Blizzard releases the next patch for Season 7 of Diablo 4. After some hotfixes, patch 2.1.2 is now on the way and ensures that you can find the rare altars more easily. A faulty unique for the Necromancer will also be fixed.
What is wrong with the altars? The powers of the witching power are the seasonal mechanic in Season 7 of Diablo 4. However, to use certain witch powers, you must find special altars – and that is causing frustration for some players. Blizzard has already increased the spawn rate of the “Forgotten Altars” with patch 2.1.1. Now the developers are introducing new affixes in Nightmare dungeons that also revolve around the altars.
What Blizzard is changing: The Forgotten Altars, to unlock forgotten powers of the witching power, can be found in random dungeons in Sanctuary. To guarantee the spawning of such an altar, new affixes will be added to the Nightmare dungeons. This means: after the patch you can find keys for Nightmare dungeons that contain an affix such as “In this dungeon, there is a higher chance of Forgotten Altars”.
In the patch notes, Blizzard specifies: “To guarantee the appearance of a Forgotten Altar, a new Nightmare dungeon affix has been added. This affix will only be an option on Nightmare dungeon seals for the rest of the season of witching power.”

Patch brings fix for the unique “Mendel’s Ring”
What else does the patch bring? In addition, patch 2.1.2 comes with some bug fixes. A bug in the season journey where goals were not displayed as completed will be fixed. The problem where goals reset when torment bosses are fought in a group and then solo will also be addressed.
Blizzard is also tackling bugs that affect the builds of various classes:
- The bug that caused the damage from “Mendel’s Ring” not to scale with all the bonuses it should, will be fixed.
- The change from patch 2.1.1 that prevented Druids from moving while channeling “Rend” will be reverted.
The bug fix for the unique “Mendel’s Ring” should particularly please minion necromancers. While the ring is still strong, it has not been able to deliver the damage it was supposed to – this will finally be fixed.
On February 18, the “Mother’s Blessing” event in Diablo 4 will also start again – this time not only with a bonus on XP and gold but also extra chests from the Whispering Tree:
What the bug fix for the unique “Mendel’s Ring” means for the minion builds of the necromancer remains to be seen. Currently, minion builds are not in the top tiers of the tier lists for the endgame in Diablo.
