In Diablo 4, the new patch 1.4.1 has been rolled out. There is a problem with masterworking that you can cleverly circumvent.
What is masterworking? With the new season 4, two new crafting mechanics have been unlocked in Diablo 4. One is tempering and the other is masterworking.
For the latter of the two, there is now a new problem for players on PlayStation and a problem for all players of Diablo 4 who have found their way into the game with the latest patch 1.4.1. For one of the two problems, there is a workaround that you can use until a coming patch.
Reactivating Disabled Masterworking
What is the first problem? The first problem prevents players from accessing masterworking, as the corresponding option is disabled. Blizzard is aware of the issue and has provided a suitable workaround in the official Blizzard forum.
To regain access to masterworking, you must either complete any dungeon level or transmute materials. Afterwards, you can access masterworking again.
What is the second problem? The second problem affects Diablo fans playing on PlayStation. While the new patch has reduced the costs of masterworking in Diablo 4, players on PlayStation still see the old, higher costs.
The problem also affects not just the display but also the materials that must be present before masterworking can be performed, even though the actual costs have already been reduced.
So, for example, if you want to perform masterworking at rank 12, you must have 10 million gold to carry out the process, even though in the end only the reduced costs of 2.5 million gold will be deducted.
Blizzard states that both issues will be resolved with a hotfix in the next patch. There is currently no further information about the timing of the patch.
