The Open Beta of Diablo 4 starts on March 24. What you need to know about the download on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox is explained by MeinMMO in the article.
What is the download size? The download size of the Beta is just over 85 GB on PC. However, this download includes the complete package with high-resolution 4K textures.
If you only download the game without extras, you will come to 41 GB, which roughly corresponds to what the system requirements for Diablo 4 recommend. On Xbox and PlayStation, it’s around 37 and 76 GB respectively.
How can I download the game in advance? To participate in the Beta from March 24-27, you simply need to download the game. The Open Beta is open to everyone, and you do not need to pre-order the game.
- PC: Visit the Battle.net client tab for Diablo 4 and click on Download. If you can’t find the game, click on “All Games”
- PlayStation: Search for Diablo 4 – open Beta in the PS Store and select “Download”
- Xbox: Search for Diablo 4 – open Beta in the Microsoft Store and select “Download”

What’s included in the Beta? If you want to check out the Beta, you can create up to 10 characters. You have access to all 5 classes from Diablo 4.
You can level up to level 25 and explore the entire prologue as well as Act 1. You are not time-limited, but you cannot level further after level 25. However, several activities are still available to you:
- the world boss Ashava at certain times
- over 20 dungeons
- Events in the open world
- plenty of side quests and some achievements
If you join in, you can earn a cute wolf pup as a reward. However, you will only receive the reward with the release on June 6. The Beta runs until Monday, March 27, at 9:00 PM German time.
