The first Hunter players have crossed the million mark in Diablo 4 in the new leaderboards and are thus far ahead. Currently popular: The Barrage build, which breezes through every content and is easy to play.
What kind of build is this?
- Barrage Hunters rely on the eponymous skill that scatters arrows in all directions, usually enhanced by a Shadow Infusion.
- The Barrage build is currently in the Tier List of Diablo 4 in the S-Tier – It is an excellent build, not only when comparing Hunter builds, but across all classes. The build is considered one of the strongest overall.
- One of the top Hunter players uses the Barrage build in a slightly different variant with skills that do not appear in the standard build.
This is how the top player plays his Hunter: Player M1PY is currently in 2nd place on the Hunter leaderboard with 1,046,247 points (as of March 12). M1PY relies on Barrage but has made a few adjustments:
- For more damage, he uses the Cold Infusion according to the leaderboard, while in his video the Shadow Infusion is shown – both should work.
- Shadowstep provides more mobility in addition to dashing.
- Shadow clones provide more damage over a larger area.
- You can find M1PY’s build directly in the game or here with all info on maxroll.gg.
In addition, the Hunter player uses some special, rare items like Tibault’s Will, the Ring of the Starless Skies or the Harlequin’s Crown, which is considered a top item for all builds. Without really strong gear, the leaderboard is currently hardly climbable.
In the ranking dungeon, it’s not only about dealing a lot of damage but also being fast. You have to get through the area quickly, activate shrines, and collect items. Only then do you earn points. In our overview, we explain how exactly the leaderboards work and how you score points.
Exploits make leaderboards harder to read
M1PY is not the best player on the Hunter leaderboard, but he is the only one whose profile is viewable. The current problem is that some players are using exploits to gain more points.
The top 2 player has expressly refrained from using exploits and even posted a video proving that he has earned his rank honestly (via YouTube).
There are some tricks that can be applied without resorting directly to exploits. In addition to level 100, strong equipment, and the right build, the right route in the dungeon is also important.
Since the dungeon remains unchanged each week, you can quickly figure out routes yourself or look them up. Towards the end of the week, when the best routes have been found, the points of the players will probably continue to rise.
The current top player across all classes, Mekuna, plays a Lightning Whip Sorceress. With this build, he has already collected over 1.4 million points, more than anyone else. Mekuna was one of the first to find out that shrine buffs are extremely important: The best player in Diablo 4 relies on arguably the most useless stat in the game, has 1.2 million points on the leaderboard
