Today, on June 24, 2023, there was a new patch for Diablo 4. The hotfix has fixed the glitch through which you could collect infinite experience points.
The patch notes in German – What has changed? Blizzard introduced the patch in the official forum and explained it in detail.
Here are the patch notes:
Gameplay fixes:
- A problem has been fixed where monsters could spawn infinitely in cellar events.
Class changes
- Barbarians: Reversal of a performance change that accidentally reduced the damage of “Hammer of the Ancients”.
Developer’s note: We released hotfix 12 today, which included stability and performance improvements that affected “Hammer of the Ancients”. These changes were solely for backend performance but inadvertently affected gameplay as well. It was not intended to reduce the damage of Hammer of the Ancients through this change. We have reverted this change as it was not intended.
Blizzard fixes the XP glitch with hotfix
What changes? With the hotfix, Blizzard specifically fixed the glitch that allowed you to collect infinite experience points. This is now in the past, and you can no longer exploit certain caves or cellars.
Many players wished that Blizzard would punish the players who exploited the glitch extensively and profited from the error. Someone wrote in the Diablo subreddit: “I hope Blizzard acts tough and quickly against such violations.”
Whether Blizzard will punish the players who exploited the error is not known. We will keep you updated when we know how it will proceed.
