Before BlizzCon, Diablo 4 will receive a new patch. It includes a ton of bug fixes for Season 2 and a few new features – including a reset button for the Paragon boards. The community is responding positively, but there’s also some backlash.
Highlights of the patch:
- Blizzard is introducing a button that lets you reset all points in your Paragon boards at once. Currently, this can only be done individually.
- Additionally, there will be training dummies in a basement in Kyovashad. You can try out your builds there.
- The patch will be deployed on October 31. You can find the full patch notes on the official website.
What’s still in the patch: There are several adjustments for the features from Season 2, especially the new vampire powers for all players. It will be easier to enhance and improve the powers.
You will receive more powerful blood from blood wells and can see in advance how a pact improves when you increase its level. You can find the best vampire powers in Season 2 in our Tier list.
Furthermore, the zones for whispers, where you must kill certain enemies, will be smaller. Blizzard will also fix dozens of bugs, although this isn’t well received by all players.
“They pick the one that makes hell floods even worse”
With the new patch 1.2.1, two bugs related to hell floods are addressed:
- due to a bug, the expensive 300 chests could be opened with 280 embers
- due to a bug, embers were not reset after the end of a hell flood
- both bugs will be fixed with the patch
The community is not reacting positively to these changes for several reasons. Hell floods are still important for obtaining certain materials, including for essential item upgrades and the summoning of Uber Duriel.
However, since hell floods remain time-limited and are not permanently accessible, many players find it hard to farm enough materials, especially when they do not always have time.
On Reddit, many users are expressing their frustration over these bug fixes. Especially because, hell floods can themselves be bugged and grant little embers. The main criticism is that the new blood harvests demonstrate how it can be done better.
The blood harvests are the new feature in Season 2 and the best farm spot for everything in the game. They are permanently active, have an enormous mob density, and you don’t lose the blood bait when the event ends in one place and starts in another.
Players argue: hell floods should work the same way. That would be much more fun, and you wouldn’t have to hope to randomly find one after work. Especially the loot explosions in the blood harvests receive high praise:
