The new Spiritborn class has been considered too powerful in Diablo 4 since its release. A new build confirms this perception: Spiritborn can simply stand around somewhere, make coffee, and then come back to loot. This works even in the toughest content – with some limitations.
What kind of build is this?
- The AFK build for the Spiritborn relies on poison damage that you spread to enemies in the vicinity, as well as high barriers, defense, and thorns.
- This makes the build a defensive build that passively kills monsters instead of finishing them off with active skills.
- Unlike many of the best builds in Season 6, you need several extremely rare items to be truly powerful. Otherwise, you will quickly hit limits.
This is how the build works: You play to maximize your passive damage. For the Spiritborn, this mainly works through the skill “Poison Skin,” which poisons enemies when you attack them, as well as thorn damage from the gorilla.
There are also multipliers that make you stronger through barriers or increase damage when you block attacks. Additionally, vulnerability is always an important factor. For the build, you need:
- many ranks on Poison Skin
- the unique “Wound Drinker”, through which you regain life force
- the legendary Paragon node “Tough Shield”
- the combination of Unyielding Hits and Deflected Power, which turns your block chance into a damage multiplier
- the central passive “Harmful Resonance”
- Gorilla as the primary spirit in the Spirit Hall for thorn damage
However, the two most important items are two rune words, XolXal and YulQue:
- XolXal grants you 20% life for 6 seconds when you use skills from another class
- YulQue allows you to cast the Druid’s Earthly Bulwark when using skills with a cooldown – this gives you a large barrier
OP-build requires strong items to function well
To make it through the higher dungeon levels with the build, you also need the Uber Unique Harlequin Crown (‘Shako’), as you only get the skill Frenzied Claw with it.
The playstyle is quite easy: you stand around and wait. If you want to play actively, you dash through a dungeon with Tiger Claw and use The Devourer and Armor Skin to maximize damage and defense. You don’t really have to pay attention to enemies; they die behind you.
You can find the build from the Chinese player NonNight on mobalytics.gg (written by Mattjestic). The YouTuber Mattjestic Life presents it here in English:
In addition to the “must-have” items, the player also recommends the Shroud of False Death, a rare Mythic Unique. This primarily increases your hit points, which grants you both defense and offense.
The build is said to easily handle dungeons over levels 130-140, even 150 should be possible. Without the corresponding mythics, you hit a cap around level 100. You can AFK farm mainly in Hellflames and hordes. The best places to farm the Uber Uniques are Andariel and Duriel, but how well that goes is likely very luck-dependent: Player takes down Andariel 250 times, this is his loot at the end
