The midseason patch 2.0.5 brings several buffs for all classes in Diablo 4. We summarize the highlights from the patch notes for you here on MeinMMO.
Today, on November 19, the midseason update for Season 6 in Diablo 4 is due. The patch brings various bug fixes, but also several buffs for a few items and the classes, because the “old classes” are significantly lagging behind the overpowered Spiritborn, which dominates the tier list of the strongest builds in Diablo 4.
With the midseason update, the “Blessing of the Mother” event also came into play. You now have a short opportunity to test the Spiritborn even if you do not own Vessel of Hatred.
Update, November 22, 18:00: The English patch notes were replaced with the German patch notes.
For the new class from Vessel of Hatred, the Spiritborn, no nerfs are expected at midseason. Those are expected to come with Season 7, and the developers advise: Enjoy what you still have now.
With the buffs, all classes will be a little stronger. What this means for the individual classes, we summarize for you below. You can find the detailed German patch notes on page 2 of the article.
Buffs are meant to strengthen the “old classes”
These buffs await you for the classes with patch 2.0.5:
- Barbarians: Several skills will receive a buff, such as Hammer of the Ancients, Upheaval, Double Strike, Iron Skin, and Mighty Throw. Previously, there was a bug related to the “Mighty Throw” skill according to Blizzard involving the hardening affix. Additionally, numerous uniques of the Barbarian will be improved – including Twin Strikes and the Joritz the Mighty Helm. Furthermore, the damage of the legendary paragon node Blood Rage, which plays a role in many builds, will be increased.
- Druids: For the Druid, there will be some buffs for the class mechanic of Spirit Blessings, including for Pack Leader, Iron Feather, Overcharge, and Masochistic. All central passive skills will also be buffed, as well as skills like Tornado and Storm Strike. The uniques of the class will also receive buffs, including Stone of Vehemence, The Basilisk, and Dolmenstone.
- Necromancers: The Necromancers are currently the strongest class in Season 6 (by a large margin) after the Spiritborn. However, the Necromancers will get a few buffs: The damage of Bone Storm will be increased, and other skills will also be buffed, such as Blood Surge, Decompose, and Bloody Harvest. Additionally, several passive skills will receive a buff, and individual uniques, including The Mortacrux and Roar from the Depths.
- Hunters: With the midseason update, the Hunters can also look forward to buffs for skills like Sawblades, Dance of Daggers, Piercing Shot, Rapid Fire, and Blade Storm. In addition, the damage against elite enemies from the Piercing Shot will now be multiplicative. Furthermore, single-target damage from Shadow Infusion will increase.
- Sorceresses: The Sorceresses will also receive buffs for various skills, including Meteor, Hydra, and Familiar. Various passive skills, legendary aspects, and uniques will also be buffed.
- Spiritborn: For the Spiritborn, there are a few small buffs at midseason. The poison damage from Withering Fist will be increased, as will the passive damage from Poison Skin. With the Poison Skin skill, a strong build is possible where you can basically take down enemies while being AFK. There will also be a few buffs for passive skills, legendary aspects, and uniques.
What other changes come with patch 2.0.5? In addition to the classes, the runes will also receive a buff. Among other things, the effect of the Neo Rune will no longer be blocked or reset by invulnerability. This rune can be quite useful, especially for builds that use barriers.
Mercenaries will also receive some improvements regarding their skills. In addition, Blizzard increases the quality of the reward chests in Legion events and lowers the cost of crafting “Slimy Eggs” from 9 to 3 hearts. Additionally, the damage from shrine boosts will be increased – including the damage of the often-criticized conduit shrine in Diablo 4, which some players find worse than 1 million stubbed toes.
