Apparently, a first test of Diablo 4 is already underway, even before the game is released in a beta for fans. The first players in the “Family & Friends” alpha reportedly like the game already, even though they are not allowed to say so.
What’s going on with Diablo 4?
- At the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase on June 12, Diablo 4 was surprisingly shown, along with the latest starter class: the Necromancer.
- At the same time, the registration for the upcoming beta has been opened, allowing anyone interested to sign up.
- However, it has now come to light that a first alpha test is allegedly already taking place – but under strict confidentiality, which apparently not everyone adheres to.

What are the testers saying? According to the well-known journalist and industry insider Jason Schreier, the feedback on the test is “mostly positive,” although he does not specify exactly what is being praised (via Twitter).
Criticism in the comments addresses that Diablo Immortal was well received during testing, but now mainly scares away players with its monetization. According to Schreier, a shop in Diablo 4 is probably also not yet ready for testing.
Basically, items in the shop will be purely cosmetic, and the developers have already stated that Diablo 4 will be monetized differently than Diablo Immortal.
Diablo 4 – Beta Test, Release, and Content
What’s in Diablo 4? Aside from the information about the shop, there are already some details about the content of the upcoming hack-and-slash. We already know the campaign duration and the max level of Diablo 4.
In addition, the new Diablo is supposed to feature over 150 dungeons, although that raises skepticism. At launch, you will also have 5 classes available: Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Huntress, and the most recently introduced Necromancer.

When can I play Diablo 4? There is still no concrete release date for Diablo 4, other than that it is supposed to be released in 2023. In 2023, Blizzcon is also set to return as a physical event, where you can probably expect a release date.
