Diablo 4 is too easy – such statements keep coming up. Especially compared to the biggest competitor, Path of Exile, which one should ideally have studied for its depth, Diablo 4 feels rather simple. A player counters and says: People take the easy way out. This sparks a heated discussion.
How difficult is Diablo 4 right now?
- Diablo 4 is considered the casual game among action RPGs and is quite popular among “gamer dads” and older players. The first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, has been available since October 8. Season 6 also started on the same day.
- Together with the update, Blizzard has revised the difficulty levels. You can now reach torment levels instead of increasing world levels. Experts still find the torment system too easy.
- With the new content, the game should actually become a bit more difficult, but especially the new class is incredibly strong and breezes through the content. Accordingly, there are many players who believe: Diablo 4 is too easy. Other classes, however, struggle with the endgame.
This is what the user says: On Reddit, the user fitsu has now addressed the ongoing discussion about the difficulty of Diablo 4. In his view, Diablo 4 is “terrifyingly complex” if you don’t take the work off others:
Why do people look at leveling guides to see which skills they need to take, which Paragon points they should take, which glyphs they should choose […] and then complain that the game has little complexity? […] I know that I wouldn’t have come up with a single high-tier build without a guide.
In the over 870 comments, many users agree and criticize: One shouldn’t expect too much when 90% of players are playing the same, overly strong build. If you take away the challenge, Diablo 4 is, of course, boring.
Others add: While the spirit born easily masters the toughest content in their sleep, players are still figuring out how to tackle opponents in torment 4 as a wizard.
“Criticism comes from people who want to build their own builds”
However, there are also loud counter-voices to this accusation. The user Mileena_Sai responds: One should not assume that criticism only comes from people who copy everything. Building your own build isn’t that difficult:
1. Choose a skill.

2. Take the unique for the corresponding skill.
3. Collect aspects for the corresponding skill.
4. Fill the rest with damage multipliers.
5. Get as many Mythics as possible because they are OP for every build anyway.
6. Choose 4 Paragon boards with the most multipliers.
7. Choose 5 glyphs with the most multiplicative damage.
8. Maybe your build isn’t viable because it doesn’t exploit any bugs.
Some players argue that this plan is somewhat oversimplified. The art lies in knowing which of these options is best for the build. It isn’t as easy as presented.
However, fans are fairly unanimously of the opinion that Diablo 4 is indeed less complex than, for example, competitor Path of Exile. A number of players would, however, make the game easier for themselves than it really is. A dispute among fans remains, which has almost become part of the game and Blizzard: “Do we have to complain about every detail?” – Fans say Diablo 4 is much better right now, one should just not see the bad all the time
