In Diablo 4 you can ride a horse for the first time. However, you must first complete the quest “Donan’s Favor”. MeinMMO explains how to get your mount and what the horse brings you.
When will I get my mount? Mounts are unlocked through the quest “Donan’s Favor”. You can only receive this quest after completing Acts 1 to 3.
In terms of time investment, this corresponds to about 5-10 hours, depending on your play style. You will meet Donan earlier, but the quest only becomes available after several story missions.

How to complete the quest
After you have completed Act 3, you should go to Donan in Kyovashad for another task. He will talk to you briefly and then send you away again. You need to be careful here.
If you quickly follow the next main quest, you will miss the quest “Donan’s Favor”. Donan will still talk for a while about the stable master and then give you a new task. This will be displayed on the map as a gray cross.
Donan then advises you to visit the stable master in Kyovashad and speak with him. Follow his advice, and you will receive your first mount as well as the ability to get on. Completely free of charge.
Once you have unlocked the mount and finished the campaign, you can ride on level 1 with every subsequent character.
Tip: You can call your mount using the Y key on the keyboard or the right D-pad with the controller (default settings). If you spur the horse, you will be faster for a short time. If you want to dismount, use the same key or, better yet, directly execute a special attack when dismounting.
Where can I get mount armors and new mounts?
You can buy mount skins repeatedly through the shop, sometimes even get them for free during events or find them in the game. A special treat is Invincible, the horse of the famous Lich King Arthas Menethil from Warcraft. However, there are no other animals besides a horse.
If you want to further customize your horse, you can add trophies to it. Armors and trophies are usually obtained as part of bundles in the shop. You can also find some items for customization in the game just like that.
Partially, the prices for mounts and the like in the shop can be quite hefty. Prices usually fluctuate between 10 and 20 euros, with more expensive bundles available that cost even more – but also contain additional content such as platinum and more.
