The talents of a character in Diablo 4 are going to be really expensive to reset. A player at level 100 has taken his gold into his hands and has tried it completely to share his insights with the community.
What is the reset about?
- Blizzard has already confirmed before release that resetting abilities will be expensive, with increasing costs. At a certain point, it is supposed to be better to start a new character.
- After the first announcements, it was later said that it will at least be “affordable”.
- Starting from level 50, the Paragon tables with glyphs also come into play, from which the real strength originates. This is where it really gets expensive.
What does it cost to rebuild a character? The user TSXWave has reset all his Paragon points on Reddit. He pays 39,317 gold per point:
- at level 100, you have 225 Paragon points
- 200 from level
- 20 from maximum reputation
- 5 from Lilith statues
- this totals 8,846,335 gold to reset the entire board
According to the community, that is not too much. What is annoying is that each point has to be reset individually. This takes time and is unnecessary if there could simply be a button to reset all points, like with talents.
By the way, these also become increasingly expensive as you level up. If you want to reset all talent points, you will pay:
- 138,098 gold at level 52
- 2.5 million gold at level 91
- 4,358,642 gold or 75,149 gold per point at level 100 (via wowhead)
- this totals just over 13 million gold for a complete reset at level 100
In the video, we explain when it is worth selling items:
13 million gold for a new build
While you will accumulate a fair amount of gold on your way to level 100, you will also urgently need it for other things like removing aspects from legendaries or rerolling items. Especially the latter can quickly run into millions.
To farm a complete reset, you probably need about 1-2 hours of pure farming at level 100, depending on class and build, more or less. You can find tips on this here:
When is a reset worth it? Even if a complete reset is expensive, the grind for the gold takes less time than leveling a new character to this level. So if you have little time but want to try a new build, it can definitely be worth it.
You can find here the best builds for all classes in the tier list for Diablo 4.
This can especially make sense if you are already considering builds for your new season characters or want to try it out on the eternal realm first. Because new legendaries and co. will also be available on the eternal realm.
You will have to farm gold anew in the season. To test a build, you can therefore use your equipped “mains” to experiment here before wasting gold in the season. You can find more on this here:
