Diablo 4 has received some changes with Season 4, the biggest being to the loot system. Blizzard is making it easier and more comfortable for players in every aspect. However, one of these comfort changes could quickly cost you your Uber Uniques if you click carelessly.
What is this button?
- You can salvage unwanted items at the blacksmith and receive crafting materials and even legendary aspects since Season 4, which go directly into the Codex.
- If you’re in a hurry, you can use the bottom button to salvage your entire inventory at once.
- Until now, the game only considered all items up to rare (“yellow”) items. That has changed since Season 4.

What happens when I press the button? You will actually break down all items in your inventory – including legendaries, uniques, and Uber Uniques. The only exception is favorites.
In itself, the button saves you a lot of time and is necessary because since Season 4, you actually have no reason to carry yellow items.
You would have had to manually shred all legendaries with the old system. However, since Season 4, it is actually useful to destroy Uber Uniques, because you can craft new Uber Uniques yourself.
Now, one click on ‘Salvage All’ is enough to throw your entire inventory into the furnace and get the materials back. Experts complain that uniques are useless since Season 4, but a mistake can still be frustrating.
If you really want to salvage your entire inventory with the press of a button, you should definitely keep a few things in mind beforehand:
- Check which items represent an upgrade to your equipped items.
- Mark equipment you want to keep as favorites. This can be done on PC using the spacebar, on Xbox with the X button, and on PlayStation with square. Caution: You are also marking items as junk!
- It’s best to store equipment you want to look at later directly in your stash.
You should especially be careful if you have just unequipped equipment you are currently wearing for any reason. The game shows no mercy in this case and irretrievably shreds everything.
Even the streamer and expert Raxxanterax was surprised during his stream that the function really destroys all items – even his Uber Uniques, as he realized.
