The Hell Hordes are a go-to place for gold, materials, and items in Diablo 4. A player has now showcased their special drop: a mythical Unique.
With Season 5, a new endgame activity has been introduced in Diablo 4: the “Infernal Hordes”, or in German: Hell Hordes. The activity is based on monster waves, and finally, you fight against three bosses. If you defeat them, you can open chests with the collected “Burning Ether”.
Additionally, there is a large chest that you can open once – it drops items with larger affixes and has a chance to drop Uniques as well. One player had particularly good luck. Others are also reporting really good loot drops.
What items have players received? On Reddit, a player shows off their strong loot drop. In their screenshot, it is clear that they received a mythical Unique from the chest in the Hell Hordes. In a comment, the user explains that it is the headpiece “Andariel’s Visage”.
Some users react with surprise. For example, Chance_Permission_76 writes: “Nice, good to know that this is possible.” Other users report in the comments about their own mythical drops that they received in the Hell Hordes:
- nttnppst writes that he received the sword “Doombringer” at level 3
- shoognite received the chest armor “Tyrael’s Might” as a drop at level 4 of the Hell Hordes
The mentioned items are Mythic Uniques. The Mythics are powerful, rare items for all classes that make many builds even stronger or exceptionally powerful.
Individual users ask the post creator in the comments whether the drop chance is related to the level of the Hell Hordes. He himself received the mythical headpiece at level 8 – the most difficult level. In response, he states that he doesn’t believe that makes a difference. The drop chance is generally very low.
Why is everyone currently farming this content? The Hell Hordes are currently particularly popular in Diablo 4 for various reasons. On one hand, players receive important crafting materials for Masterworking there, rendering the dungeon in the season practically unnecessary.
And even if you need gold, this activity is the best go-to place. The higher the level of the Hell Hordes, the more monster waves there are, and the more Ether you can collect.
Additionally, the activity has a good monster density. In the PTR for Season 5, the Hell Hordes were still very unpopular – they simply weren’t fun for players during testing. Afterward, Blizzard revamped the mode, and many players now think: The Hell Hordes are the best thing that could happen to Diablo 4.
