In Diablo 4, leaderboards will be introduced in Season 3, but not right at the start of the season. When they will arrive and how they work will be explained here on MeinMMO.
Already at gamescom 2023, the developers discussed leaderboards for Diablo 4. It was mentioned that they first want to ensure better balancing, with the boards planned for Season 3. The Season of the Construct begins on January 23, but the leaderboards will come later.
The leaderboards will feature weekly rotating dungeons with a fixed layout, where you can compete against others. We will explain what this is all about below.
How the leaderboards work in Diablo 4
How does the leaderboard work? With the start of a new week, the old leaderboard is reset and replaced with a new one. In the weekly rotating dungeons, there will always be the same monsters and affixes. This is to ensure that it is a fair challenge.
The level of the monsters in the dungeons will start at 100, putting your leveled and refined builds to the test. You can try out different classes for the high score on the leaderboards.
The following types of leaderboards will be available in Diablo 4:
- Solo leaderboards for each class
- Group leaderboards that vary depending on group size
- Leaderboards for players in hardcore mode
Each leaderboard consists of tiers, and with each new placement, you receive rewards and seals. Once you unlock the “Seal of the Worthy,” you will be ready to compete for the top 1,000 spots on the leaderboard:
When will the leaderboard be implemented? In a YouTube video, Joe Piepora, a developer of Diablo 4, explains that the leaderboard will come “several weeks after the start of the season.” Each player who has unlocked world tier 4 can then fight for a spot on the leaderboard.
