The birthday event for Diablo 4 starts on June 6th. It is divided into two parts: The Goblin March and the Blessing of the Mother. Both grant you hefty bonuses that you should definitely take advantage of if you want to level up or need loot and gold.
Update 7:30 PM: The Goblin event is live, and the first rewards are available. The Blessing of the Mother is missing. The anniversary is running quite chaotically.
What are these events?
- From June 6th to 13th, the Goblin March takes place. The event has been live since 7:00 PM German time.
- The second part of the birthday event, the Blessing of the Mother, is returning. This will last a full 10 days this time, but we do not yet know the start date. We have inquired with Blizzard, and a response is pending. According to Community Manager Adam Fletcher, more information will be available next week (via X.com).
- Both events give you the opportunity to acquire loot and especially gold more easily and quickly. Gold is a bigger problem in Season 4 – so now is the perfect time to farm.
What rewards are there? If you log in between June 6th and 12th, you will receive free skins in the shop. You can claim them until June 20th. These include weapons, horse armor, and a mount. However, they are not yet available in the shop – despite being redirected.
During the Goblin March, the spawn rate of treasure goblins is increased, and they drop more loot than usual. They can also appear in pairs or whole packs. Additionally, there are more Shrines of Greed.
During the Blessing of the Mother, the experience points you receive according to Blizzard are increased by +25%, and the gold you receive by +50%. In the game itself, however, both are indicated as 35%. If your first character is already at level 100, now is the perfect time to level a second character or farm gold.
For the best gold boost, you should combine the events with our tips for quick gold farming in Diablo 4.
Season 4 still excites players even 3 weeks later
The events are held to celebrate the first birthday of the game. Diablo 4 was released on June 6, 2023, and generated a lot of excitement at the time, which however turned into frustration after a few days.
The criticism back then: The game lacks endgame content, there is not enough to do. Diablo 4 becomes boring too quickly, and especially the items are simply not well designed. Too many affixes, too few improvements, and it is impossible to compare loot properly.
With Season 4, Blizzard has completely overhauled the game. The loot system has been improved and many contents have been adjusted, such as:
- Upgrades, which now have their own crafting system
- Hell floods, which are now harder, provide significantly more rewards and are permanently available on all difficulties
- the endgame, in which you now have a content that even experts cannot completely conquer
Overall, Season 4 is receiving an incredibly positive response and praise from everywhere. Players and experts alike are enthusiastic about the changes and some call it a “rescue” of the game. How well Season 4 is received is also reflected in the numbers. Since the release of the season, Diablo 4 has maintained a steady player count on Steam: Diablo 4 sets a record on Steam with Season 4, still has the same number of players 3 weeks later, earning praise
