The team behind Diablo 4 has answered questions regarding the hack-and-slash in a new Q&A on Twitter. One of them was about the Druid and how his special class mechanic works. However, you will not be able to experience this in the beta.
How does the Druid’s special class mechanic work? The Druid is one with nature and from level 15, you will have the chance to travel to your homeland, Scosglen. From then on, you can unlock your special class mechanic. The system behind it works like this:
- In Scosglen, four animal spirits will be waiting for you
- You can then honor these deities with offerings that you can loot from various enemies
- Once you have delivered the right offerings, you will receive a permanent blessing from the deity you have chosen
- However, your decision is not final, and you can exchange your active blessing for another one based on your mood
- Once you have honored all gods, you even have the chance to receive two blessings from one deity and one from each of the others. So, in total, that’s 5 blessings
- Depending on your playstyle, you will need to decide which blessing you actually want to receive to get the best out of your build
That was the Druid’s mechanic; however, there is a good reason why you cannot explore this in the beta yet.
Beta is too short to unlock mechanics
In the Q&A on Twitter (via twitter.com), the developers make it clear that the beta is far too short to travel to the Druid’s homeland.
The beta covers the entire first act, but beyond that, you will not be able to explore any further areas. Nevertheless, the team is looking forward to any feedback that comes from the beta.
When does the beta start? The beta has two dates that you should mark in your calendar:
- Friday, March 17 – Sunday, March 19: Pre-order beta
- Friday, March 24 – Sunday, March 26: Open beta for everyone
So pre-order customers will get to enjoy Diablo 4 sooner, while new fans or uncertain players will only be able to enter the battle at the end of March to try out the new hack-and-slash. Either way, the beta is worth it because with it you get the chance for a sweet companion that takes a nap on your back:
Anyone participating in the open beta of Diablo 4 will receive an incredibly cute gift
