The Harlequin Crest (engl. “Harlequin Crest”) is a famous item from Diablo 2, which is now also available in Diablo 4. The helm is so powerful that almost every build is based on it. The first player has now found it – only where, is still not quite clear.
What kind of item is this?
- The Harlequin Crest, also known as “Shako” among veterans, is the former strongest helm from Diablo 2 and is now also in Diablo 4.
- The helm is a unique item, or a “Unique” – This means you cannot transfer its powers to other items.
- So far, no one has been able to confirm where and how to get Shako. Now the first player has found the item – or at least the first one known.
What makes this item so special? The stats of the Harlequin Crest are stronger than almost any other helm. You gain massive health and more stats. However, the coveted aspect of the helm is its legendary effect.
The Harlequin Crest grants you +4 to all skills of your class. This means: you have all skills unlocked and almost at the maximum you could reach without items. The bonus also applies to the skills you need. Most builds in the tier list of Diablo 4 are therefore based on this item.
Also, the secondary bonus of the effect is a nice addition. You receive percentage damage reduction, one of 2 important defensive stats in Diablo 4.

Shako found – Where to farm the item?
As wowhead reports, the first player has now found Shako. This is a Korean streamer whose viewers have publicly shown the drop. The Community Manager of Diablo 4, Adam Fletcher, confirms the authenticity on Twitter.
The problem is that the statements about the locations contradict each other:
- some claim the item was found in high nightmare dungeons, one of the endgame contents of Diablo 4
- others say the streamer simply found it while farming in the Champion’s Descent on World Tier 4 – a popular farm dungeon
- originally, it was even assumed that Shako drops from the “Pinnacle Boss”, the hardest opponent in the game. At least the drop here is not guaranteed.
It is therefore likely that you can find Shako just like any other item randomly everywhere. Where legendaries are generally more likely to drop, you will find the unique item more readily. As soon as we know more about the locations, we will share the information with you.
