Diablo 4 has promised a worthwhile XP bonus for this week, but Blizzard had to respond with a hotfix.
What is this event about?
- In Diablo 4, the “Mother’s Blessing” event has been running since Monday, November 20, 2023, where you receive 35% more XP and gold. The bonus applies to all players.
- The event is expected to last for 7 days and end next Monday, November 27.
- The “Mother’s Blessing” event took place in Diablo 4 back in September – at that time, however, only with a bonus of 25% on gold and XP.
Why was there a hotfix now? As reported by players on X.com (formerly Twitter), there was a mistake with the XP bonus. Instead of the promised 35% boost from Blizzard, there were only 25% additional experience points – just like the last “Mother’s Blessing” event in September (via Twitter).
In response to the Twitter posts, Adam Fletcher, the global community development director for Diablo at Blizzard, announced a hotfix (via Twitter).
This hotfix was released a few hours later. You should now receive an XP bonus of 35% as promised. However, Fletcher added in a post on Twitter that the tooltip display in the game continues to show 25%, as that cannot be fixed with a hotfix.
Should you play the event? That depends entirely on your motivation, but it can be worthwhile to participate in the “Mother’s Blessing” event.
Due to the boost, this is the ideal opportunity to farm XP and gold. You could bring a character to level 100 if you haven’t done so yet, or level a different class.
It also makes no difference whether you are playing a season and the related content or whether you are in the endless realm. Moreover, you can stack the XP bonus, for example with potions, to further increase your yield.
