Blizzard has promised a big announcement about Diablo 4. Fans were excited but did not receive what many expected.
Rod Fergusson, the head of Diablo, intrigued all fans of the action RPG on April 18 and mentioned a “secret announcement” about Diablo 4 on Twitter. This announcement was to follow in the developer livestream on April 20, which we at MeinMMO covered for you in a live ticker and summarized the key information from the developer stream.
In the lead-up to the stream, there were many speculations about what the secret announcement could be. Some fans expected that another class would be announced.
Instead of a new class, there is another test weekend
What was the big announcement? If you were hoping to see a new class, you might be disappointed now. The big announcement is another weekend where you can test Diablo 4 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
Blizzard aptly named the new test weekend “Server Slam,” as it is supposed to test the resilience of the servers and show whether they can handle the release rush.
When is the Server Slam? The Server Slam will start on Friday, May 12, 2023, and end on Sunday, May 14.
Participation in the Server Slam offers rewards: If you participate in the Server Slam, you can receive some rewards like you did in the beta. The Wolf Bundle of the Open Beta is also available, so anyone who didn’t reach level 20 on time gets a second chance.
A new participation reward is the mount trophy “Cry of Ashava,” which you receive when you defeat Ashava with a “level 20” character.

Why is the Server Slam what secretly everyone wanted? The release of Diablo 4 is still a few weeks away, and many players are highly anticipating it, especially those players who wanted more after the beta.
