The midseason started a midwinter event in Diablo 4, where you can secure a bunch of gifts. How to get the loot and the powerful elixir “Gileon’s Brew” is explained here on MeinMMO.
This is included in the midseason patch: On November 19, 2024, the midseason update for Season 6 in Diablo 4 was released. Patch 2.0.5 brought several buffs to the game:
- Blizzard has buffed all “old classes” as they lag far behind the overpowering Spiritborn. The new class currently dominates the tier list of the strongest builds in Diablo 4.
- The mercenaries, runes, and shrines in Diablo 4 also received a buff – including the unpopular and often criticized shrine of connection, which some players find worse than 1 million stubbed toes.
- Additionally, the developers have improved the rewards in legion events.
But the update also brought other rewards related to the midwinter location in Kyovashad and a “Red-Cloaked Terror.” Here’s why you shouldn’t miss out on the gifts.
When does the event run? The midwinter event runs from November 19, 2024, to December 3, 2024. The special boss named “Red-Cloaked Terror” can also appear during this period and provide you with loot.
A bunch of items, mats, and runes with one click
What gifts do I receive? At the “Midwinter Protection” statue in Kyovashad, you can collect a gift once per account during the event period in Diablo 4. The gift includes a bunch of loot that you receive once you click on the statue.
The loot includes among other things:
- Seals for nightmare dungeons
- The event elixir “Gileon’s Brew,” which gives you a bonus to your damage, XP, and material drops
- Magical, rare, legendary, and large midwinter bags with items, runes, compasses for the hell hordes, mats, gold and tributes
- A bunch of mats – including iron chunks, angel’s breath, and forgotten souls
This is what the “Red-Cloaked Terror” brings: The Red-Cloaked Terror is part of the midwinter event. The boss can randomly spawn instead of a hellflower in the hell flood. He can also surprise you in the hell hordes and in dungeons. If you defeat him, you will receive embers, “Burning Ether,” and the elixir “Gileon’s Brew.” The elixir increases your damage, XP, and herb and crafting mat drops for 30 minutes.
Here’s why the drops are particularly worthwhile: With the loot, you can equip your player characters in Diablo 4. Even though the gift is only available once per account, you can use the mats, runes, tributes, and some items for all characters you create on the realm.
You can also use Gileon’s Brew and the tributes for multiple player characters to increase your loot drops. The tributes can be sacrificed in the undercity of Kurast to increase the chance of certain drops – like runes or uniques.
The midwinter bags contain some very useful items such as uniques and legendary and unique ancestral items. The ancestral items – or “bequeathed” items – have been dropping less frequently since Season 6 and are quite sought after. Bequeathed items have greater affixes that make your builds even stronger. A player completed 2,400 boss runs and documented the drops of ancestral items – his conclusion was quite sobering.
At the “Midwinter Protection” statue in Kyovashad, you thus have the chance for really strong loot for your builds and will also be supplied with a bunch of mats and gold.
Additionally, the “Mother’s Blessing” event in Diablo 4 takes place in the first week of the midwinter event. This event gives you a hefty bonus on experience points and gold, making the grind during this time even more worthwhile. The bonuses can be secured by all players on both seasonal and eternal realms at all difficulty levels.
Furthermore, all players on Battle.net have the chance for a short time to try out the Spiritborn – even if you do not own the “Vessel of Hatred” expansion. You can find out more here: The current top class in Diablo 4 actually costs 40 euros, Blizzard offers it for free for a short time
