Tomorrow starts Season 2 in Diablo 4 and what better way to bring attention to it than with a new video from Blizzard. The developers presented some of the most important changes in this video, but they had to delete it shortly after.
What was that video about? Blizzard released a now-deleted video on X (formerly Twitter) about Diablo 4 Season 2. In it, some of the major QoL changes of the hack & slash were presented.
These include the adjustments to the dungeon layouts, the speed boost of your mounts, as well as a mathematical calculation of how much the XP buff of your earned experience points has increased.
While the video only offered 01:40 minutes of content, Blizzard messed up everything that could have been messed up. A YouTuber viewed the content before the video was deleted and could only burst into uncontrollable laughter.
Mistakes that should not have happened
What did Blizzard mess up? The YouTuber and passionate Diablo player Raxxanterax analyzed the developers’ video. In doing so, he identified mistakes that should not have been published.
In the deleted video, the dungeon layouts were first mentioned. Many of these were adjusted to ensure a better flow when farming. The developers then presented two dungeon layouts and labeled them as “before” and “after.” Unfortunately, as Raxxanterax noted, the representations were swapped – the bad layouts were advertised as new layouts, which already made the YouTuber laugh.

The second point was the presentation of the speed boost of your mounts. Again, two recordings were played simultaneously in comparison to illustrate the changes. Although there was nothing wrong with the presentation, the YouTuber offered his constructive criticism.
In the recordings, it was almost impossible to determine which horse was faster. They should have solved that differently, according to the YouTuber.
The last point was the XP adjustments for the upcoming season. The presentation revealed two calculation methods for how Blizzard calculated the gain of your XP for seasons 1 and 2. Raxxanterax noted that both calculation methods do not lead to the result that Blizzard revealed in the video.
The YouTuber bursts into loud laughter and can’t contain himself, even wondering how he should publish informative videos when Blizzard makes it so difficult for him.
When does Season 2 start? Despite the amusing video, the Season of the Blood starts on October 17th, which is tomorrow at 7 PM German time. You will most likely have to download an update to bring Diablo 4 up to date. It remains to be seen in what condition the hack & slash will be after the update or if any errors will sneak in.
