The first beta test of Diablo 4 is over. According to Blizzard, this test was a great success because many players have already played up to level 20. However, there is a good reason for this, and a sweet companion could be to blame, as you will find out here.
This is how successful the first beta of Diablo 4 was: The first beta test was a strong success according to Blizzard, as more than 1 million players made it to level 20. It must be noted that only players who had pre-ordered Diablo 4 were able to play in this beta.
It is quite astonishing that so many players participated. Additionally, it is also interesting to see that so many fans leveled up their beta heroes to level 20. There is now a suspicion that a sweet gift encouraged players to play the beta so extensively.
A sweet companion convinced you all to keep playing
Why is level 20 so unusual? Well, Blizzard advertised a gift before the beta if you level up your hero to level 20 in the beta. You will receive a sweet wolf on your back that you can carry with you at all times.
The interesting thing about it is that you cannot just casually grab the gift, because after completing the first act, you will move between level 14 – 16 depending on the difficulty level.
So, you need to have actively explored the world, completed dungeons, finished side quests, or slay enemies to efficiently level up to 20 in the beta.
For this reason, it is very likely that many players wanted to secure their sweet bonus first. In total, more than 1 million players have reached level 20, according to Blizzard.
Do I still have a chance to get the gift? Even as a non-pre-order player, you still have the chance to get the wolf. During the weekend from Friday, March 24, 5:00 PM to Monday, March 27, 9:00 PM, Diablo 4 will open its doors for the open beta. Every platform can test the beta for free without restrictions.
If you want to treat yourself to the wolf because you want to buy Diablo 4 later, then you still have a chance with the open beta. You just need to reach level 20. You will receive the wolf when Diablo 4 is fully released.
Do you find it surprising that so many players have reached level 20? Did you also play until level 20 just to secure the wolf, or because you had so much fun? Let us know in the comments!
