In Diablo 3, the end of Season 4 and the beginning of Season 5 are approaching.
During the Diablo 3 panel yesterday at Blizzcon, it was announced that Season 4 would end in late December. After that, there will be a short break before Season 5 starts.
It was stated that Season 5 will last for 3 months. This could become the new standard length for seasons. There will be no “legendary season items”, but each class will receive a set that will be tied to the seasonal journey.
There will no longer be a need to create new characters. It will be possible to have an existing hero undergo a rebirth. Then they will start as a “new seasonal hero” and will receive their items at the end of the season.
Additionally, to solve the space issues, a new tab in the bank will be added for each season that a character has participated in. Cosmetic rewards and the seasonal journey will be maintained and rotated.
Patch 2.4. brings 24 Set Dungeons and many changes
Season 5 will likely take place with the new Patch 2.4. This will be a massive patch, bringing two new zones, 50 new legendary items, 10 revamped sets.
With “Set Dungeons”, a new gameplay idea is introduced. These 24 new dungeons can only be entered if one wears a matching set for each dungeon. Special challenges await the heroes there; those who complete them will receive a flag or other cosmetic items. Those who complete all 24 will receive wings.
The 24 dungeons are not randomly generated, but will have a fixed design.
More Gem Upgrades for a lot of Gold
In Act V, there is a new larger zone with Greyhollow Island; 16 fresh monsters are expected to await players here. 175 new bounties have been distributed across Acts 3 and 4.
Furthermore, existing areas have been expanded. From the ruins of Sescheron, one goes to the “Eternal Woods”; from Leoric’s manor, the “Royal Quarters” can be accessed.
Another major new feature is the “Empowered Rifts” – they are intended to serve as a gold sink. Players can purchase additional upgrade attempts in Greater Nephalem Rifts, but this will be very costly.
