When does Season 27 end in Diablo 3? So far, there is no official end date from Blizzard. However, based on previous seasons, a period can be estimated for when S27 will end.
What are we showing here? Currently, Diablo 3 Season 27 is running with exciting temporary content. But every season in the game has to end at some point. Many players are therefore wondering when they can expect an end to Season 27 and the start of Season 28.
Based on experience from the last few years, we can roughly deduce when you can expect changes.
When does Season 27 end?
What we suspect: Initially, we assumed that Season 27 would end on January 8. However, Blizzard is keeping the chapter active a bit longer. In a reddit post, Community Manager PezRadar explains:
For Diablo 3: Players can expect the PTR for the next update at the end of January. Before that, we will publish the [Patch] notes for it on our blog.
So far, there is no exact day when the current season ends. We will update the article accordingly when we know.
How did the last seasons go?
- Season 27 started on August 26, 2022
- Season 26 started on April 15, 2022, and ended on August 21, 2022
- Season 25 started on December 10, 2021, and ended on April 10, 2022
- Season 24 started on July 23, 2021, and ended on December 5, 2021
- Season 23 started on April 2, 2021, and ended on July 18, 2021
- Season 22 started on November 20, 2020, and ended on March 28, 2021
- Season 21 started on July 3, 2020, and ended on November 8, 2020
- Season 20 started on March 13, 2020, and ended on June 21, 2020
What is the pattern? Since Season 21, seasons have lasted significantly longer than the usual 12 weeks. S24 lasted about 19 weeks, S25 lasted about 17 weeks, and S26 was active for 18 weeks. Seasons generally last around 18 weeks.
If you calculate 18 weeks from August 26, the end date would be January 1, 2023. Seasons of Diablo 3 always end on a Sunday and always start on a Friday. Due to the holidays during Christmas and New Year, we assumed that the season would be extended by a week, meaning it would end on January 8. However, it is still active, as Blizzard confirmed with the timing for the PTR.
The start of Season 28 could then take place in early February.
