When does Season 20 end and when does Season 21 begin in Diablo 3? We show you what we know so far.
What is happening in Diablo 3? Currently, Season 20 of Diablo 3 is running. It started on March 13, 2020, and brings a cool theme for Kanai’s Cube into the game.
Players are already wondering how long they can still play in this season and when the next adventure will begin. Although Blizzard has not yet provided an official start date, we can already give a rough outlook.
When does Season 20 of Diablo 3 end?
This is known: Usually, a season of Diablo 3 lasts about 3 months. However, this is a dynamic indication that can shift forward or backward by a few weeks under special circumstances, such as larger patches.
Blizzard says:
We no longer provide an estimated time for the end of seasons. However, seasons should last about three months (depending on development needs, sometimes a bit longer, sometimes a bit shorter), and we will also inform you at least two weeks before the end of a season in the future.

This is speculated: Season 20 started on March 13. The last seasons ended on a Sunday. So, roughly calculating with a 2-week tolerance, the following possible dates arise for the end of S20:
- May 31, 2020
- June 7, 2020
- June 14, 2020
- June 21, 2020
- June 28, 2020
You still have plenty of time to earn the cool bat as a companion.
This is how the last seasons went: Usually, it stays with Blizzard’s 3-month plan, with a few exceptions.
- Season 19 started on November 22, 2019, and ran until March 1, 2020
- Season 18 started on August 23 and ended on November 10
- Season 17 started on May 17 and ended on August 18
- Season 16 started on January 18 and was actually supposed to end on March 17. However, it ended on May 12
When could Season 21 start?
This is what we know: There is usually a one to two-week gap between the end of an old season and the start of a new one. The last seasons (16, 17, 18, and 19) all started on a Friday.
This is what we suspect: Based on the last seasons, we assume that Season 21 will also start on a Friday, approximately one to two weeks after the end of Season 20.
Possible dates would then be:
- June 5, 2020
- June 12, 2020
- June 19, 2020
- June 26, 2020
- July 3, 2020
But keep in mind that this is pure speculation and only shows a possible, rough timeframe for when the new season might begin.
What do we expect from Season 21? The developers of Diablo 3 are currently giving each class a new set. Monks, Wizards, Barbarians, Witch Doctors, and Crusaders have already benefited from this. One class is particularly strong in Season 20.
A new set for Demon Hunters and Necromancers is still missing. It is quite possible that Season 21 will bring at least one of these sets into the game.
