The end of Season 17 in Diablo 3 is in a few weeks. We will show you when we expect the start of Season 18 and what content is being speculated about.
Currently, Season 17 is active in Diablo 3. It runs with the seasonal theme of the Legacy of Nightmares and unlocks this bonus for all seasonal characters. Since the season has been running for several weeks now, players are wondering how much time they have left to participate.
When does Season 17 end? Unlike previous seasons, Blizzard wants to announce the end date for a season about 2 weeks before it ends.
A season in Diablo 3 usually lasts 3 months. Season 17 started on May 17 and is scheduled to end around mid or late August 2019.
Update: The end date of Season 17 is now known:
However, this is just a rough estimate from Blizzard. Depending on development needs, a season can also be active for shorter or longer than 3 months. Season 16 was unexpectedly extended by 2 months in Diablo 3.
They want to make an announcement at least 2 weeks before the end of a season.
When does Season 18 start? Usually, there is about a week of downtime between the end of one season and the start of a new season.
- There were 7 days between the end of Season 14 and the start of Season 15
- Almost a month passed between the end of Season 15 and the start of Season 16
- There were only 5 days between the end of Season 16 and the start of Season 17
Once the end date of Season 17 is known, the start of Season 18 can be predicted more accurately. We are roughly aiming for the end of August. That would be on August 23 or August 30. But that is purely speculation for now.
Season 18 Theme – This seasonal theme is wished by the players
On social media, there is already speculation about which seasonal theme Blizzard could activate for Season 18.
The following theme wishes are often mentioned:
- Double the amount of items for each slot in Kanai’s Cube
- Multiple enchantments per item
- Set bonuses in Kanai’s Cube
- Companions also active in group play
- No limitations on Paragon levels
Other players wish for a seasonal theme to make a season more challenging. With less time for great Nephalem Rifts or by waiving all 6-piece bonuses.
Seasonal themes have existed since Season 14. They are considered a seasonal bonus meant to make the seasons more appealing to players.
- In Season 14, there were double treasure goblins
- Season 15 rewarded players with double the amount of Horadric Cache
- In Season 16, every seasonal character received the Ring of Royal Grandeur bonus
- Season 17 activates the Legacy of Nightmares for all seasonal characters
What would you wish for Season 18 in Diablo 3? Or are you just waiting for Diablo 4?
