What kind of portal is this? When you start Diablo 3 now, you will find the campaign, Adventure Mode, and also the Challenge Rift when selecting game modes. This special type of portal gives you a class with a build that you should bash through a large Nephalem Portal within a time limit.
The Challenge Rifts have been around in Diablo 3 for a while, but you shouldn’t complete them before the start of a new season, as the rewards are very useful for starting a new character.
Save the Challenge Rift 233 for Season 25
Why should you save it? On Friday, December 10th, Season 25 starts in Diablo 3. If you want to level up quickly, it is advisable to start the season with the Challenge Rift. This way, you secure the following rewards:
- Bounty Materials (15 each)
- 35 Death’s Breath
- 475 Blood Shards
- Crafting Materials
- plus 4.6 million gold
If you then unlock Kanai’s Cube, you can extract legendary properties right from the start, making your leveling phase much easier and faster. For this reason alone, it is worth waiting for the completion until the season starts.

How does the Challenge Rift for Season 25 work? Depending on the region you are playing in, the Challenge Rift changes. It also changes weekly. In general, it is helpful to command the golem to a spot and then, when essence is depleted, to run over the corpses that remain when the golem lands. Through your aura, you generate essence and automatically cast corpse launch.
Even Raxxanterax emphasizes in the video that you should only complete the Challenge Rift after the start of the season to take advantage of the rewards for the new Season 25. So practice a bit now, but don’t finish the portal.
