For Diablo 3, the developers presented the patch notes for the new update 2.6.7b. With these changes, they are addressing a form of cheating that has gained significant attention in recent days.
What is this patch? In the Diablo 3 community, Community Manager Nevalistis announced that the new patch 2.6.7b for Diablo 3 is now live. The update is available for you to download.
This is a small patch that can be downloaded quickly. You will not find any balance changes there. It is mainly about ensuring a fairer gaming environment.
Patch Notes for Update 2.6.7b in Diablo 3
What does the patch change? In the official patch notes, Blizzard describes that they modified the Pandemonium buff. This became apparent a few days ago when a stream highlighted how this buff could be exploited. Players took advantage of this to achieve top positions in the leaderboard. Time records were set using this unfair method.
The patch notes:
- Season theme buff – Pandemonium
- An unintended use of gameplay mechanics with the seasonal theme has been fixed
- As a result, players must now be in the same “world” as the monsters they are killing to collect stacks for Pandemonium. A world is defined by the boundaries of a Nephalem portal (large and normal) or the same area of the world map
- A bug was fixed where the Pandemonium buff expired as soon as the passive ability to cheat death was activated by players
- An unintended use of gameplay mechanics with the seasonal theme has been fixed
There were no changes to class balance. The tier list of the best builds and classes in Season 19 remains unchanged.
How dangerous was this? It didn’t take long for Blizzard to deliver this patch. Just hours after the official statement, update 2.6.7b was released. Blizzard officially states that exploiting the gameplay mechanics of the Pandemonium buff in this way is clearly considered cheating by them.
Players who exploited this should expect bans or even permanent bans. You can see Blizzard’s complete statement on this cheating here.
What do the players say? Many are pleased that Blizzard is so communicative and quick to respond.
A very small update, but it makes me proud of the Diablo 3 developers. I think the team has done a really good job this season, and it makes me happy that they still show love for this game.

This player also attracted a lot of attention for achieving the jump from level 1 to level 70 in one second. And all without a bug:
