In Season 21 of Diablo 3, two classes are currently leading the leaderboard and stand out from the rest. The Demon Hunter has tough competition as a contender for the number 1 spot on the leaderboard.
What’s happening in Diablo 3? Exactly one month ago, on July 3, 2020, Season 21 started in Diablo 3. When such a season begins, players start completely from “zero” and earn gold, experience points, and equipment with their fresh characters from the ground up.
A new balance patch often coincides with the start of a season, which slightly alters the strengths of each class. That’s why we regularly check the leaderboards for Diablo 3 at MeinMMO and give you an overview of which classes are currently on top.

What do we see here? Here we show you the current state of the seasonal solo leaderboard for Season 21 in Diablo 3 in softcore. Status: August 3rd at 14:35.
What builds are being played? We will link you to the hero profiles of the players who set the best times behind each entry. There you can then view their builds on Blizzard’s website. Keep in mind that these builds were used to set the best times and may have changed since then.
- Demon Hunter – GR 150 in ~ 13 minutes and 55 seconds (Hero profile on Diablo3.com)
- Barbarian – GR 150 in ~ 14 minutes and 35 seconds (Hero profile on Diablo3.com)
- Necromancer – GR 143 in ~ 10 minutes and 55 seconds (Hero profile on Diablo3.com)
- Witch Doctor – GR 140 in ~ 12 minutes and 32 seconds (Hero profile on Diablo3.com)
- Crusader – GR 136 in ~ 14 minutes and 21 seconds (Hero profile on Diablo3.com)
- Monk – GR 134 in ~ 14 minutes and 46 seconds (Hero profile on Diablo3.com)
- Wizard – GR 130 in ~ 12 minutes and 56 seconds (Hero profile on Diablo3.com)
What’s special about that? The Demon Hunter is returning to the top of the leaderboard after years of absence. However, the lead over the Barbarian is very slim. A neck-and-neck race has emerged in the rankings. Here it should be noted that the Barbarian’s best time in the rankings occurred before the hotfix that adjusted the seasonal theme by Blizzard.
In the last seasons, the Demon Hunter was usually found in one of the last spots, if not the last. The new “GoD” set pushes the class significantly forward.
However, it is also evident that the Barbarian remains extremely strong and can almost keep up with the Demon Hunter. The Whirlwind build is popular in the community and is still played today. Spin to win!
In the tier list for Season 21 of Diablo 3, you can see which sets currently have the most potential for the various classes. If you want to see yourself on one of the leaderboard spots here, then it’s best to use the builds shown there.
In group play, the leaderboard looks very different. The largest portals are completed in just a few minutes. The reason is a mechanic that players actually considered cheating. But Blizzard says: This mechanic in Diablo 3 is not an exploit, but intended.
