What is happening in Diablo 3? Since February 24, Season 28 in Diablo 3 has been running. With patch 2.7.5, the new chapter began with the “Altar of Rites” as the seasonal theme. At the start of a new chapter, players start with seasonal characters from “zero” and then climb up to the maximum level 70.

What makes Season 28 special? With the “Altar of Rites,” a special seasonal theme awaits you, which acts like a big skill tree. There, you can unlock 29 powers – 26 seal powers and 3 potion powers. Who creates the Tier List? As a basis, we take the Tier List from maxroll.gg. The website develops this Tier List with extensive tests and mathematics. Behind it stands the team around Rob, Wudijo, Northwar, Facefoot, Raxxanterax, and Chewignom.
In the article, we will show you the Tier List as a graphic and go into the top 3 builds of each class on this and the following pages. There is also a link to the build so you can easily recreate it and understand the mechanics.
What does Tier “S” to “F” mean? In general, you won’t find any “bad” builds on the Tier List. It’s about the potential for best performances in Greater Nephalem Rifts. In S-Tier, it is higher than in all the tiers below. Nevertheless, a build from the F-Tier is still strong, just with less potential on paper.
Use the Tier List here as a rough guide for the strongest builds. Ultimately, in Diablo 3, it comes down to who grinds more and has higher Paragon levels. Because with an incredibly high Paragon level, even weaker builds become strong.

The 3 best builds of the Barbarian in Season 28
- S-Tier: Raekor Boulder Toss (via maxroll.gg): With the Raekor set, you enhance your Boulder Toss and are quickly mobile with this build. You don’t have to play entirely in melee. This is a good thing because the build is quite “soft” and you need to position yourself well.
- A-Tier: LoD HotA (via maxroll.gg): The second strongest build for the Barbarian in Season 28 plays with the Hammer of the Ancients. The advantages of the build are that you can take a lot of hits and attack quickly. Your chance of crits is also quite high. However, it takes a long time to assemble the LoD build, and the playstyle is very one-sided. In Season 27, this build was still in S-Tier.
- A-Tier: Savage Frenzy with Starter Set (via maxroll.gg): As a starter set in Season 28, Barbarians will use the set of the Ninety Wilds. This allows you to cut through your enemies in a relatively fast play style but has little big AoE damage. For groups, you bring good buffs but are bound by cooldowns.
- Bonus: The popular Whirlwind build only made it into the B-Tier this time. While it is still strong, it has lost some potential compared to last season.
