In Diablo 3 the event “The Darkening of Tristram” 2020 is approaching, celebrated in-game for the anniversary of the franchise. We will show you what the cultists are up to in the game and how you can receive the rewards.
What is this event? Around the anniversary of Diablo, a special event is celebrated in Diablo 3. This will also run in 2020 under the name The Darkening of Tristram. With this event, players are reminded of the beginnings of Blizzard’s hack and slash.
When does Darkening of Tristram start? The event takes place regularly in January. The cultists have already appeared in Diablo 3 and lurk in the dark levels. The event fully starts at midnight on January 3rd to January 4th.
On February 1st at 01:00 the event is expected to end.
Special Dungeon, Butcher Pet – The Rewards
The Event: Mysterious cultists can be found after the event starts in Adventure Mode. You can collect their clues to learn how to find a portal to Tristram’s past.
Upon entering this portal, Diablo 3 changes its appearance to retro vision. A filter is applied that visually takes you back to the beginnings of Diablo. Within the dungeon that opens after entering the portal, you will encounter familiar enemies and iconic items again.
At the end, the Lord of Terror awaits you.
The Rewards: Playing the event provides you with more than just nostalgic feelings. Transmogs, achievements, portraits, companions, and more await you.
