The start date of Season 27 in Diablo 3 is known. The new chapter starts later this month. We show you the seasonal theme, the starter sets, and the rewards of the new season.
When does it start? Season 27 starts on August 26, 2022 and is called “Light’s Calling”. That is less than a week after the end of Season 26.
As usual, it starts at 5:00 PM German time on PC for you. Console players usually have to wait longer and can only start at night. August 26 is a Friday – the classic weekday that Blizzard times such launch dates to.
Below, we show you what content Season 27 brings.
Season 27 seasonal theme
This is the theme: In Season 27, you can find the consumables “Angelic Crucibles”. They can drop anywhere after you reach level 70. If you use a Crucible on a legendary item, it randomly gains one of three class-specific powers. It then becomes a “Sanctified Item”.
- The Angelic Crucibles can only drop in seasonal play and cannot be transferred to non-seasonal play.
- You can create as many Sanctified Items as you want – however, you can only have one Sanctified Item equipped at a time.
- With another Angelic Crucible, you can reroll the Sanctified Items.
- Only legendary items from level 70 onwards can be upgraded – crafted items do not work.
- Your followers like the Templar cannot be equipped with Sanctified Items.
- Due to the PTR tests and feedback, the drop chances of the Angelic Crucibles have been doubled.
Haedrig’s Gifts – The starter sets of Season 27
What is this? When you complete chapters 2, 3, and 4 in the seasonal journey of Season 27, you will receive set pieces from Haedrig’s Gift with which you can complete a class set. Since you can approach the seasonal journey right at the beginning with level 70, these gifts are also called starter sets.
In each season, the set you receive for which class from the gifts changes. In S27, the following sets are available from Haedrig’s Gift:
- Barbarian – Wrath of the Wastes
- Demon Hunter – Unholy Essence
- Witch Doctor – Helltooth Harness
- Crusader – Roland’s Legacy
- Monk – Garb of the Thousand Storms
- Necromancer – Rathmas Skull
- Wizard – Tal Rasha’s Elements
Cosmetic rewards in S27
You can unlock: Since Season 17, you can earn both old cosmetic items and new cosmetic items each season. This is for players who have not unlocked the rewards in previous years.
In Season 27, you will receive rewards from Season 15:
- The chest and gloves of the Conqueror set
- Portrait frame
- The companion Belphegor (a kind of walking demon hand)
New items from Season 27 are:
- The companion Corvus Cadaverous
- The portrait Laurels of Knowledge
