In Season 28 of Diablo 3, you can level up to level 70 even faster with the new season theme. We show you how to do it.
What’s it about? The typical leveling in Diablo 3 changes with Season 28. The reason for this is the new season theme that supports you in this. Many players want to quickly get through the leveling phase and start with the endgame, diving into Greater Rifts. With the new Altar of Rites, you can carry items for level 70 early on and get a decent damage boost.
We will show you here in the leveling guide how to quickly reach max level in Season 28.
What you should do at the start
This is important first: At the start of Season 28, you begin a game with your seasonal character in adventure mode. Go to your Templar and take his shield. Then go to the Scoundrel and take his bow. With both items, go to the blacksmith and salvage them for “Reusable Parts”.
Next, proceed to the Altar of Rites. You will find it in New Tristram. Skill your first talent with the reusable parts. This will unlock the following bonus: “The duration of your Blood Rage timer and the granted bonus are doubled.”
This method has the significant advantage that leveling with Massacre bonuses becomes much easier.
The second important point: At the Altar of Rites, you can unlock the bonus at point C so that items have no level requirements anymore. This will have a tremendous impact on your leveling speed, as you will unlock the stats of level 70 items very early in the game.
Remove level requirements and wear level 70 items early
Here’s how to do it easily: After the season starts, create a seasonal character and log them in once. Then go back to the main menu and select the Challenge Portal. If you have problems with this, this guide from Raxxanterax will help you:
Then log in with your seasonal character. There are two ways to level:
- You open the reward of the Challenge Portal and use it for the contents of the Altar
- You wait to open it because at a later point in the Altar, you will have to use a closed reward chest as material (from Tuesday you can complete a second Challenge Portal and earn a chest)
What’s next: The guide from maxroll.gg shows how you can quickly unlock the bonus. For this, you use the reward chest from the Challenge Portal. If you don’t want to use the chest, you can find a second guide at maxroll.
- Create a Necromancer (or Witch Doctor if you do not own the Necro DLC) – Use the corpse explosion as early as possible to easily smash enemies
- Start an adventure game on “Master” difficulty
- Handle the gear from Templar and Scoundrel as described here
- Unlock Seal A for Blood Rage at the Altar
- Level up your blacksmith to level 12 with the materials from the Challenge Rift reward
- Craft an axe for level 5, a dagger for level 10, a sword for level 12, and a two-handed sword for level 15
- Buy various blue items from the vendor to equip
- Teleport to Act 3 to the Ruins of Sescheron and fight your way to the Sanctuary of the Ancients
- Check your skills here and adjust/note additional ones. Choose weapons you crafted when you have reached the level
- Now try to maintain your Massacre bonus in the Sanctuary of the Ancients and defeat all enemies there. Sometimes you will also find an event with a cursed chest. This should help you reach about level 18
- Quickly grab Kanai’s Cube while you’re there
- Now obtain the Flawless Diamond
- With that, you can now unlock Seal C at the Altar of Rites
- If you do not want to play a Necromancer or Witch Doctor, then create your main class now
- Set the difficulty to Torment 6
- Craft a level 70 item for each slot from the blacksmith. Priority is a two-handed weapon, then helmet, then boots
- If you have leftover blood shards, you can upgrade the level 70 weapon to a legendary weapon in Kanai’s Cube
What’s next? Now you have level 70 gear at level 18 and can level up with it. This provides a significant boost to your damage and toughness. Whether you play in Nephalem Rifts or level with Massacre bonuses is up to you. Although leveling with Massacre bonuses is the fastest but requires some practice.
Leveling in Nephalem Rifts is slower but works without practice.
It is also recommended to complete some bounties early on if you can still play at the high difficulty. This way, you will receive more materials, gold, and a good chance to loot coveted items like the “Ring of Royal Grandeur”.
Through the season journey, you unlock starter sets with which you can have fun in the higher Greater Rifts.
