Diablo 3: Patch 2.7.6 Patch Notes
Self-Reliant Solo Hero:
Demon slayers who want to immerse themselves even more in their journey through Sanctuary can try the new mode Self-Reliant Solo Hero. In this mode, you are completely on your own to defeat the hordes from the abyss. That’s right: It’s a single-player experience. If you want to make it even harder, a hardcore version of this mode is also available.
We have decided to introduce “Self-Reliant Solo Hero,” an officially supported single-player mode, in Diablo III. Without the experience bonus from group play and without other players watching your back while you slash through the demonic hordes, this mode will challenge you. To celebrate the achievements of all those who are brave enough to start a character in this mode, we have also created specific leaderboards for “Self-Reliant Solo Hero,” which function like the other modes.
To create a character in “Self-Reliant Solo Hero,” select the “Solo Hero” option in character creation. You can still play the campaign and adventure modes as in any other mode, but only the “Private Game” option will be available. Challenge portals can be completed with a group, while the mode is seasonal. “Self-Reliant Solo Hero” is a lonely journey, so you cannot start this mode while in a group and cannot access the multiplayer aspects of Diablo III, such as trading. Reincarnation is available for “Self-Reliant Solo Hero.”
The theme of Season 29: Visions of Hostility and the other components of Patch 2.7.6 have been designed with “Self-Reliant Solo Hero” in mind. Please let us know what you think – we welcome feedback about your experiences.
Season 29: Visions of Hostility
The malicious plans of the Burning Hells have infiltrated every corner of Sanctuary, distorting reality in the process. This disturbance has given rise to the Visions of Hostility, pocket dimensions accessed by entering diabolical rifts.
Nephalem of level 1 or higher have a chance to encounter diabolical rifts by killing demons in the open world. If your slaughter of hellspawn triggers a rift, step into a Vision of Hostility – what horrors await you on the other side is unknown, but these instances offer rich rewards. The visions are quite unstable and have the potential to create more rifts after the enemies within are dispatched – keep an eye out for these opportunities to maximize your chances of useful loot.
New Monster Affixes
Watch your health, Nephalem! New powers from the Burning Hells have been granted to all enemies in the visions, making them deadlier than before. These affixes are only available in Visions of Hostility.
- Weakened: Creates an area of effect around the monster that reduces the movement speed of player characters by 65% and cooldown reduction by 50% when the character is nearby.
- Necrotic: The healing of the player character is reduced by 65%. Monsters have a damage-over-time effect that deals 180% of the player character’s maximum health over 30 seconds. This effect is removed when the player character is healed above 95%.
Paragon Cap
Together with “Self-Reliant Solo Hero” and the theme for Season 29, we are introducing changes to how Paragon points work. You can now assign a total of 800 Paragon points to your character in “Self-Reliant Solo Hero.” Previously, you could assign a total of only 50 Paragon points to each attribute in the core, defensive, offensive, and adventure categories, but now you can assign up to 200 in each attribute. In each category, only 200 Paragon points can be allocated.
This change applies exclusively to Season 29.
Developer’s Comment:
We understand that Paragon was paramount for character power. With this season’s change, we wanted to shift that power from grinding for main stats to gameplay knowledge and gear hunting. We have chosen 800 as a first baseline and would love to hear your feedback on this cap. There are some changes to the Paragon system that you should keep in mind:
- Movement Speed: We have changed movement speed to 0.125% per point because the old value would have led to 100% movement speed, which was too much. Players now have the opportunity to invest points in this value and thus exceed 25% movement speed from item bonuses.
- Area Damage: Area damage should function as before, if not slightly better, with noticeable performance improvements.
Community-Driven Changes
With each patch and each season, the community has suggested improvements to the player experience that they would like to see in Diablo III. We always take the time to read and evaluate your feedback and implement changes that fit our design guidelines for the game. Below you will find a series of particularly requested updates to enhance the player experience that are included in the PTR for Patch 2.7.6. Thank you for your feedback over the years!
Oreks Dream
- Dark Berserker (Monster set 1) and Venomous Stalker (Monster set 8) have been removed. In their place, Hellspawn (Monster set 19), Deadly Swarm (Monster set 23), and Wild Beast (Monster set 33) have been added.
Monk
- A strengthening symbol has been added for triggering the legendary item Flying Dragon.
- If the mouse is moved under the character while Tempest Rush is active, stacks of Wind will no longer be removed randomly.
Necromancer
- Haunted Visions have removed skeleton mages only from the simulacra if the player had Death Scythe in the action bar. Now it removes skeleton mages in every case.
- The Requiem armor calculated an incorrect amount of essence and added far too much excess essence per tick. This has been fixed.
Miscellaneous
- Mastery has been removed from the Season Journey Champion part. This means that you no longer have to master a set portal. Instead, it has been replaced with mastering the trials, for which you must complete a Hall of Nightmares.
- Due to the unique death animation of Hamelin, there were many issues with how it assigned kills. Hamelin now assigns kills to the player character closest to death.
- Corrupted Angels and all their variants sometimes used an attack that dealt double damage without indicating that this was a unique attack. This has been changed so that it now deals the same damage as normal attacks.
- Battlefields and Bonefields in Greater Nephalem Rifts have had map save points added.
- The maps Corvus, Ice Caves, and Spider Caves can no longer appear in Greater Nephalem Rifts.
- The monster density in the versions of the Desolate Sands and the Veil Marsh from Oreks Dream has been reduced.
