In the tier list for Season 23 in Diablo 3, we show you the best classes, builds, and equipment. Changes from Patch 2.7.0 are also taken into account.
What’s going on in Diablo 3? Today, April 2, 2021, Season 23 starts in Diablo 3. This runs with the new Patch 2.7.0, which has significantly revamped the companions. All players who start with Season 23 will begin at “zero” and try to quickly reach level 70. In this tier list, we want to show you which classes and builds have the greatest potential in S23 – meaning which class is the best.
What makes S23 special? The new Patch 2.7.0 brings the biggest changes in years to Diablo 3. Your companions – the Rogue, the Templar, and the Enchantress – can now wear much more armor, and the legendary properties will be transferred to you. Additionally, there have been updates to some of their abilities.
What you need to know about the tier list for Season 23
Who creates the tier list? For our overview article, we compare the tier lists of the biggest and most important Diablo 3 streamers, experts, and YouTubers. Among them are Rhykker (YouTube), Bluddshed (YouTube), and Raxxanterax (YouTube). The analysis by Leviathan is also included in this list. The expert named the 3 top classes of Season 23 in an interview.
As a foundation, we take the tier list from Maxroll.gg. The website develops this tier list with extensive tests and mathematics. It’s run by the team around Rob, Wudijo, Northwar, and Chewignom. Major Diablo streamers now use the website maxroll.gg to share their builds. Since April 1st, this site is even available in German.
We will embed the graphic of the tier list here in the article. On this and the next pages, we will present you with the top 3 builds for each class along with a link to the build. This way, you can easily recreate and play them in Season 23.

What do the tiers of the tier list mean? You will find categories S to F on the tier list. Builds in S-tier have the highest potential of the current Season 23, while in F-tier they have less.
But use this only as a rough guide. The greatest potential still depends on the Paragon points. For those who grind enough, they can reach higher levels in Greater Rifts.
With all these builds, even those in F-tier, you can easily clear Greater Rifts of level 70. This milestone is necessary to unlock archaic items. They are among the strongest items in Diablo 3.
This is what we show you here: On this and the next 6 pages of the article, you will find the three strongest builds for each class in Season 23. By clicking on the name of the build, you will be redirected to the website Maxroll.gg, where the build is presented in detail with all items, gems, abilities, and runes.
If the tier list changes within Season 23, we will adjust this article for you.
If abbreviations LoN and LoD appear in the builds, they are abbreviations for the legacy bonuses. You obtain these through a gem or a set of rings.
- LoN: Legacy of Nightmares – Legacy of Nightmares
- LoD: Legacy of Dreams – Legacy of Dreams
The 3 best builds of the Barbarian in Season 23
- A-Tier: Waste Whirlwind Rend (via maxroll.gg): At this point, I want to remind you of the catchy tune “Spin to win” (via YouTube). The Whirlwind Barbarian has been among the top in the tier lists for several seasons now. The playstyle is easy to understand and extremely mobile. Furthermore, the Wrath of the Wastes set also comes as a starter set from Haedrig’s gift. So you can quickly get started with it.
- A-Tier: Savage Frenzy (via maxroll.gg): Frenzy is an attack that stacks up to 5 times while increasing the attack speed. This way, you can hack through waves of enemies and slice through single enemies easily. However, it lacks some AOE damage, and the playstyle heavily relies on its cooldowns.
- B-Tier: MotE Earthquake (via maxroll.gg): In this build, you use Earthquake and deal significant damage to your enemies. You jump through the rifts and stomp on monsters. A playstyle that everyone should try. However, it doesn’t play as smoothly as a Whirlwind build.
On the next page, you will see the three best builds of the Demon Hunter in Season 23 of Diablo 3.
