Today, on 20.11.2020, Season 22 of Diablo 3 starts. We will show you what it contains and who it is worthwhile for.
When is the start time of Season 22? It starts as usual at 5:00 PM German time for all PC players. Console players will have to wait longer for the start.
Based on the start times of the last seasons, it is assumed that Season 22 will start on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch at 2:00 AM on November 21.
When does Season 22 end? A specific end date has not yet been set. Typically, a season in Diablo 3 lasts about three months. If everything goes according to plan, Blizzard will notify approximately two weeks before this end. As usual, we will immediately inform you here on MeinMMO about the end date as soon as it is determined.
What makes Season 22 special?
This is what to expect: With each new season in Diablo 3, the developers bring a special theme that accompanies the chapter. In S22 this includes the new Shadow Clones and a Cube upgrade.
- Shadow Clones: Players activating shrines or pylons with their seasonal character create a shadow clone. This is a clone of your class that scales with your character. It lasts for one minute or until it dies.
- Cube Upgrade: Kanai’s Cube now has four slots instead of the usual three. This bonus is available only in Season 22. In the fourth slot, you can choose any property. The only restriction is that you cannot have the same property active in the cube more than once.
Which builds the Shadow Clones will use can be found in the Patch Notes for Season 22 and Update 2.6.10.
What about starter sets? In the last seasons, each of the seven classes in Diablo 3 received a new set. You can eagerly try them out in S22, as the current starter sets for each class consist of the latest set.
This is particularly worthwhile for players who took a break from the last seasons but are now curious about how their favorite class or other classes play with the new sets.

Which class is the best? Due to balance adjustments and changes to Kanai’s Cube, many sets are currently playing in the S-tier. In our Tier List for Season 22 in Diablo 3, you will find out which classes and which builds are currently the best.
The Season 22 is worth it for you if … you have taken a longer break from Diablo 3 and hoped for a fresh wind. The seasonal theme with its shadow clones is a completely new way to battle through the leveling phase and Nephalem portals. Moreover, the theme is different for each class – it won’t get boring quickly as there is a lot to explore. Because for each class, the clones use three different builds.
The fourth slot in Kanai’s Cube finally opens up creative possibilities again to refine builds. Now a new set or another weapon can finally be included in the gear that was previously decided based on “good” or “bad” for a build.
The gameplay will also change due to these adjustments. But do not expect a reinvented Diablo 3. Moreover, the timing chosen by Blizzard is not ideal for fans.
