We now know when Season 22 in Diablo 3 starts. The date, which Blizzard has now officially set, is still in November. These changes are in Patch 2.6.10.
When does Season 22 start? As Blizzard announced, the new season in Diablo 3 starts on November 20, 2020. As usual, that’s a Friday. If the start goes smoothly, PC players should be able to enjoy the season starting at 5:00 PM.
Based on the start times of the last seasons, it is expected that Season 22 will start on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch at 2:00 AM on November 21.
The end of Season 21 is November 8, 2020.
So what content, changes, and gifts does the new season in Diablo 3 offer? We will show you the changes in the patch notes here.
The Season Theme – You summon Shadow Clones
The new Season 22 is called “Shadows of the Nephalem” and gives a rough idea of what the theme offers right from its name.
Whenever you activate a shrine or pylon in Season 22, the game creates a shadow clone of your class.
How strong is this? The clones scale with your character. The stronger you are, the stronger the clone. The shadow fights by your side for one minute. It can also die beforehand under certain circumstances.
In the following gallery, we will show you all the builds that will equip the clones of the respective classes. There are three builds per class clone.
The second bonus: Besides these shadow clones, you can expect another bonus in Season 22. This ensures that Kanai’s Cube prepares a fourth slot for you.
In this fourth slot, you can activate any property – whether weapon, armor, or jewelry does not matter. However, keep in mind that you cannot activate the same bonus twice in the cube. So you cannot activate the bonus of In-Geom twice.
Cosmetic Rewards in S22 – Here’s What You Can Win
What’s new? If you complete the Season Journey of Season 22 completely, you can expect two cosmetic rewards again. This time it is the portrait frame “Lost Civilization” and a new companion. “The Cain-Chronic” is the mobile book with a beard that will accompany you on your adventures.
What other rewards are there? With Season 17, Blizzard first introduced that players can earn cosmetic rewards from old seasons. So in S22, you can earn the rewards from S10 if you do not already own them. These are:
- Head and shoulder protection of the exclusive set of the Conqueror
- a series of portraits matching the black soulstone
- The Storyteller’s Flag
Haedrig’s Gift – Here Are Your Starter Sets
What is this? If you work through the Season Journey with its different tasks in Season 22, you will be rewarded with set pieces. During the steps of the journey, you are supposed to kill certain bosses, such as key guardians, train your artisans, and complete a lot of tasks that you would anyway have to fulfill on the side.
The big reward is a complete class set when you finish the Season Journey at stages 2, 3, and 4. For each of these three stages, you receive a few set pieces, so that after stage 4 you have the complete set in your possession. Keep in mind that you must open all the gifts with the same class to receive a complete set.
The contents of the gifts always depend on which class you open the gifts with.
What sets are there? In Season 22, the distribution looks like this:
- Barbarian – Horde of the Ninety Savages
- Crusader – Aegis of Valor
- Demon Hunter – Cogs of Terror
- Monk – Pattern of Justice
- Witch Doctor – Mundunugu’s Regalia
- Wizard – The Typhon’s Veil
- Necromancer – Mask of the Burning Carnival
As you may notice, these are all the sets that were released for the classes in the last seasons. So anyone who took a break from Diablo 3 for a few months has a lot to discover here.
