You already have a Diablo 3 character at level 70 and are taking down enemies in the greater Nephalem Rifts like pesky flies? Congratulations. Now you want to face a new challenge, but don’t want to take the long way or have no one who can quickly level you up? Don’t despair, ask Mein-MMO.
The “long” way of playing through the story on lower difficulties is tedious and not very rewarding. We will show you how to quickly get any additional character to the maximum level. And let’s be honest, that’s when the fun really begins.
The guide is structured so you can choose how much effort you want to put in to reach maximum level, starting with the lowest requirements for your gear. If you consider all the steps, you’ll quickly be at level 70.

The Basics: Nephalem Rifts
For speed-leveling to be possible, you need to have completed the story with one character. This unlocks adventure mode across your account.
Thus, you have direct access to the Nephalem Rifts. Without a doubt, these provide the best way to level up a character. The enemies in the rifts adapt to your level. Even if you go naked at level 1 into such a rift, you are able to take down the enemies.
In addition, you receive massacre experience bonuses that further speed up your progress. The annoying cutscenes or constantly teleporting to the cities to talk to story-relevant characters are eliminated. You can complete the entire leveling process in the Nephalem Rifts.
Socketing Gems
The first and easiest way to speed up leveling is to use a Flawless Royal Ruby. Sockets in your helmet grant a direct 41% increase to your experience gain. Additionally, place other gems in different gear that increase your primary attributes to boost your basic stats.
The Difficulty Level
For each higher difficulty level, you gain more experience. If you implement all the tips from this guide, you can comfortably play at torment level 6, granting you a 1,600% experience bonus.
Leoric’s Crown
This is most likely the first legendary item that drops for you during the course of the story. Leoric’s Crown provides a bonus experience of 75-100% depending on the roll. With a perfect roll and the Flawless Royal Ruby, you can increase your bonus to 82%. To top it off, get the helmet at level 70 and roll it with a Gem of Ease at level 25 through Kanai’s Cube. This lowers the level requirement to level 1 and you can start using the helmet immediately.
Hellfire Ring / Amulet
The needed plans for a Hellfire Ring or a Hellfire Amulet are sold to you by Krümelchen in Act II. The special thing about these items is that they have no level restrictions and can be equipped from level 1. Just craft the ring and amulet at level 70 and give them to your character that you want to level up. In addition to the massive bonuses to your stats, the ring also grants you 45% more experience.
Legendary Gems
The legendary gem Gizzard of the Molten Wildebeest regenerates 35,000 life points per second at level 25. Furthermore, it grants a shield that absorbs 200% of your maximum life per second. This gem ensures that you become nearly invulnerable while leveling.
However, you don’t just want to be able to take damage, but also deal it. The weapon Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker at level 70 is perfect for this. The legendary perk deals 300% weapon damage in larger groups and further increases your leveling speed. Ensure that you have the weapon socketed. Socket the legendary gem Gem of Ease at level 25 into it. This not only grants you an additional 1,750 experience per slain enemy but also lowers the weapon’s level requirement to level 1. You can therefore equip the weapon immediately and start slashing away.
With the legendary gem Wreath of Lightning, you can further increase your damage output. Place the Wreath on one of your rings at the highest level possible and watch as the enemies get hit by lightning. The effect is similar to the one you can observe at the corresponding shrines.
What else can I do?
Leoric’s Signet Ring grants an additional 20-30% bonus experience. Here too, you can remove the level requirement with the Gem of Ease at level 25 and use it right at level 1.
Starting from level 21-23, you gain access to Cain’s and Born’s set, which provide additional bonus experience. You can also lower the level requirement to 1 with the Gem of Ease and begin right after crafting the set items for level 70.
If you follow all these steps, you’ll reach the maximum level faster than Lucky Luke can draw his weapon. Also, there will be a double EXP weekend in Diablo 3 from July 15 to July 17. This halves the time you need additionally.
