The seasons in Diablo 3 regularly provide new excitement on the PC. Will they also come to Playstation 4 and Xbox One?
Wyatt Cheng, a game designer for Diablo 3, recently made a statement regarding the console seasons. Cheng raised the topic in August when he said, “Perhaps the decision not to bring seasons to consoles is something that should be reconsidered.”
According to Cheng, they have done that and re-examined the decision: What would it technically mean? What would it cost us? And they decided against it. Seasons on consoles are not a goal that will be pursued for Diablo 3. Cheng cited primarily a “lack of a secure online environment” as the reason.
Cheng emphasizes: Diablo 3 on consoles is of utmost importance to Blizzard. Therefore, they also release patches simultaneously with the PC and try to bring every feature to all platforms. And while this usually works out, there are exceptions with features that are only available for one platform: Seasons for PC – the Nemesis system for consoles.

Speaking of seasons: The next one, Season 5, starts on January 15. Only on PC. The Patch 2.4 will also be available to console players – it is expected in the next 2 weeks.
