The new season theme of Season 28 in Diablo 3 is being received very well in the community. Players are demanding that it remains forever. But they only want certain features of it to stay permanently.
What is the feature? With every new season of Diablo 3, there is a specific season theme. These can be wild meteors that regularly fall from the sky or even a fourth slot in the powerful Kanai’s Cube.
In Season 28, Diablo 3 introduced the Altar of Rites. Basically, it’s a large skill tree whose unlocks apply season-wide for all characters (Hardcore and Softcore are separate). The season is still active with the feature for a few more weeks, but now players are demanding that the Altar stay forever. A few contents from it would be enough.
Some features “should have always been in the game”

What are players demanding? On reddit, user MrRodesney asks, “Does anyone else think that the Altar of Rites should be permanent?”
In response to the question, there are already over 120 comments, many of which agree with the creator:
“I think a few of its features should be permanent. Like the companions that pick up items. Or the progress orbs that are automatically sucked in,” writes LordOverBomber. User Sage-Like_Wisdom agrees and states: “Yes, that should have always been in the game, just like gems [which are currently not automatically collected], to be honest. I would prefer not to have companions (it’s really sometimes slow for me) and everything we pick up should be collected automatically, no matter how far away we are.”
Others say that not “everything” should remain at the Altar. User jkanoid suggests that the Altar with its quality-of-life changes could remain permanently in the game. However, the buffs should remain seasonal. This way, each season the Altar could be adjusted a bit and new skill orders could be tried out.
What’s behind this: Automatic item collection has always been a point that players wished for. If you zoom through the various acts or Nephalem rifts with your speed build, you constantly have to throw the anchor and stop to pick up certain items. This becomes less important as the game progresses, but items like Breath of Death, which you use for crafting, are always nice to have. Nevertheless, it gets in the way of “speed” a bit.
The automatic collection of progress orbs is a nice quality-of-life feature in Nephalem rifts and Greater Nephalem rifts.

Both can now be permanently unlocked in the Altar, simplifying the gaming experience in this season.
The companions collect white, blue, and yellow items through the unlock and immediately dismantle them. This saves you from picking them up and keeps more space in your inventory.
Blizzard may also want to prepare players for Diablo 4 and its features with the system.
How do you like the Altar of Rites from Season 28? Is this something you would like to keep? If so, which features do you like the most?
