Not only the new difficulty levels will provide more variety in Diablo 3!
Patch 2.4.2 for Diablo 3 is supposed to improve the game and bring a fresh wind. This includes not only new torment levels that make monsters even nastier, but also changes to items and the addition of a hotkey that will allow you to take even nicer screenshots in the future. With the increased difficulty, the chances of good loot also rise – soon it will be possible to obtain multiple Greater Rift keys at the same time.
There are strong rewards on Torment 11 – 13
Already on the PTR servers, the new difficulty levels generated a lot of discussion. If you read the official forums and social networks, players have mixed opinions about this “renewal.” Some think it’s great to prove their skill on new difficulty levels and earn more rewards, while others find the change rather boring and uninspired.
With the adjustment of the difficulty, it will be easier for you to farm items like keys. If you are looking for the Key of Destruction, you have a 50% chance on Torment 1 that the key guardian in Act 1 will drop this key for you. On Torment 4, you already have a 100% chance for the key. If you increase the difficulty above Torment 4, the chance for an additional Key of Destruction as a reward increases.
The hunt for Greater Rift keys has also been simplified, as now one of these keys will drop in every Nephalem Rift. The higher the difficulty is set, the higher the chance of obtaining a 2nd or even 3rd Greater Rift key when you complete a Nephalem Rift.
Changes to items in Diablo 3
With the upcoming patch, some items have been revised or even newly added to the game.
Hunter – Wrappings of Taa’Koul: A new effect has been added. Spike traps now gain the effect of the rune Impale and can be deployed twice as fast.
Monk – Scarbringer: A new legendary property has been added. With Lashing Tail Kick you now deal an additional 300% damage to the first 5-7 enemies hit.
Wizard – Starfire: A new legendary property has been added. For every 10 meters of distance to the target, the lightning damage dealt is increased by 15% (maximum 60%).
All further changes to items can be read in the official PTR patch notes for Patch 2.4.2.
The interface in Diablo 3 will be beautified
As mentioned in the introduction, there will be a hotkey to hide the interface to take nicer screenshots of your game. If you haven’t hidden the interface to take screenshots, you can look forward to new icons. The different pylons will have their own minimap icon when you are in Nephalem and Greater Rifts. Additionally, there will be a special icon for the Menagerie Goblin on the map.
Once the patch is released, the changes will go live. Are you looking forward to the changes with new items and increased difficulty, or should other areas of Diablo 3 be addressed?
A conspiracy theory suggests a Diablo 4 release during Blizzcon 2016.
