Fans waited in vain for the announcement of a new installment in the Diablo series at Gamescom.
Many fans of Blizzard’s hack and slash Diablo 3 hoped that there could be hot news at this year’s Gamescom. Among other things, there was speculation about a rework of an old installment of the series or a new add-on. The “secret messages” found in the goodie bag already made some fans think. Unfortunately, Gamescom 2016 was not the chosen date for the long-awaited news about Diablo.
No Diablo 4 in sight
For a long time, there was no concrete news on how the Diablo series would continue. This year’s Gamescom did not seem to be the right time to make new statements. This may be because a possible new game or add-on is not far enough along in development. Another possibility could be that they want to save the hype for this year’s BlizzCon. Because in this direction, the Diablo team has already made hints.
During Gamescom, there were repeated hints with the number “4”, which are not particularly meaningful. At least not if you’re not the type for conspiracy theories. Now we have to be patient for the remaining days until BlizzCon 2016 and wait to see what surprises the developers have in store.
