In Season 29 of Diablo 3, the developers are bringing player requests such as a solo mode and a limitation on Paragon points. We will show you all the content from patch 2.7.6 in the patch notes.
What do we know about Season 29? The team from Blizzard recently released the patch notes for patch 2.7.6 in Diablo 3. This version will mark the start of Season 29, which will be the last to run with new content. In the following chapters starting from 30 only old content will be rehashed. However, in the end, the developers will once again address your wishes and bring a special theme for the “Visions of Enmity” season.
We will show you the highlights and patch notes in this overview.
- Highlights from Season 29 with season theme
- Changes based on requests from the community
Season 29 of Diablo 3 at a glance
When does Season 29 start? That is still unknown. The testing phase on the PTR will start on August 15 and is expected to last for two weeks. If there are issues or adjustments, the PTR time could also be extended.
Solo Mode “Solo Self Found”
What kind of mode is this? In Solo Self Found, you fight entirely on your own. There is no group option to support you. Blizzard explains that players have been asking for an officially supported solo mode for Diablo 3 for years. Here, you forego the group XP bonus as well as the help of other players. However, there will also be special leaderboards.
Anyone who wants to participate must activate the corresponding option during character creation. If you wish, you can even play it as a hardcore version.
Season theme of Season 29: Visions of Enmity
What does the theme bring? Starting from level 1, you have the chance to encounter demonic rifts in the open world. You get the chance to do this by killing demons. If you’re lucky, such a rift will open and send you into the Visions of Enmity. These instances are packed with powerful rewards. It can even happen that by killing monsters in a vision, you open another rift.
A look at an official screenshot shows that the encounters may be quite challenging:
New Affixes for Monsters
What new affixes are there? Three new affixes will be introduced by Blizzard to its monster packs in Diablo 3. They are:
- Enervating: An effect is created around the opponent that reduces your movement speed by 65% and increases your cooldowns by 50%.
- Necrotic: Your healing is reduced by 65%. The enemies have a dot effect that deals 180% of your max health over 30 seconds. The effect is removed if you heal above 95%.
- Resource Leech: If you are hit by an opponent with this affix, you lose 65% of your maximum resource.
Paragon Points Limit
What does the new limit look like? In Season 29, you can only allocate a maximum of 800 Paragon points. Previously, apart from the main stats, you could only spend 50 points on individual attributes. Now you can spend up to 200 points per attribute.
However, it is limited to 200 points per category.
The developers explain that the movement speed was adjusted to 0.125% per point because players would have become too fast due to the new limits. Additionally, area damage is said to perform about the same, if not slightly better.
Community Changes
We quote the patch notes from Blizzard:
Oreks Dream
- Dark Berserker (Monster Set 1) and Poison Cloak (Monster Set 8) have been removed. In their place, Hellspawn (Monster Set 19), Unholy Swarm (Monster Set 23), and Wild Beast (Monster Set 33) have been added.
Monk
- A power icon has been added for triggering the legendary item Flying Dragon.
- If the mouse is moved under the character while Thunderfront is being cast, Windward stacks are no longer randomly removed.
Necromancer
- Haunted Visions have only removed Skeleton Mages from the Simulacra when the player had Death Scythe in the action bar. Now it removes Skeleton Mages in any case.
- The Requiem Armor calculated an incorrect amount of essence and added way too much excess essence per tick. This has been fixed.
Miscellaneous
- Masterful has been removed from the champion part of the season journey. This means you no longer have to master a set portal. Instead, it has been replaced by mastering the trials, for which you must complete a Hall of Nightmare.
- Due to the unique death animation of Hameln, there were many issues with how it assigned the kill. Hameln now assigns the kill to the player character closest to the time of death.
- Corrupted Angels and all their variants sometimes used an attack that dealt double damage without indicating that it was a unique attack. This has been changed so that it now deals the same damage as normal attacks.
- Battlefields and Bonefields in Greater Nephalem Rifts have been added with map save points.
- The maps Corvus, Ice Caves, and Spider Caves can no longer appear in Greater Nephalem Rifts.
- The monster density in the versions of the Pitiful Sands and the Veiled Marsh from Oreks Dream has been reduced.
