A Twitter post has been causing excitement among players of Blizzard’s Diablo 3 for the past few days.
In the tweet from user @Benifios, there is an image showing the Battle.net shop. However, in the section for the base game of Diablo 3, there is no price listed, but instead a message stating that the game is free to play up to level 70 (current maximum level).

It is conceivable that the base game of Diablo 3 will be made available for free, and players will only need to purchase the expansions. Practically like a trial version, but without a level limit. Since players would not have the option to play the adventure mode or create a Crusader, it is also a good way to boost the sales of the add-ons.
Apparently just a bug
Diablo 3 Community Manager “Nevalistis responded to this tweet, stating that it is just a display error and they apologize for the confusion. Allegedly, the text came from the Chinese version of the game, which operates under a different pricing model.
Of course, this could also just be a good excuse to cover up that Diablo 3 might soon truly be free to play. Perhaps we will get more information on this topic in the near future. The model would definitely be practical for new players!
