The PTR phase of Season 22 in Diablo 3 is being extended. Update 2.6.10 is currently causing issues. However, players find it good to wait longer for the release of the season.
This is what Blizzard says about the test: Currently, tests for Patch 2.6.10 are running on the PTR of Diablo 3. This is the update with which Season 22 is supposed to run.
In the forum, Community Manager PezRadar writes that players are reporting latency issues and login errors on the PTR. For these reasons, the PTR will be “extended indefinitely”. Behind the scenes, they want to work on the issues now.
Additionally, they are asking for further help from players. They wish for more people to participate and play on the PTR.
Next, the developers want to test 2 things:
- The shadow clones of the players, which arise from the seasonal theme, will be disabled for now
- Once the shadow clones are back in the game, the fourth slot in Kanai’s Cube will be disabled. This is also a bonus of Season 22

Players: “These are good news”
This is what the players say: In the community, the news is being discussed. On reddit , user toasti3 writes: “These are good news.” He elaborates on what changes he wishes for the theme: “It would be nice to see that the clones are also useful in higher rifts or actually scale with the hero’s progress. If it turns out that the fourth slot in Kanai’s Cube doesn’t break anything, it would be cool to keep the feature in the core game.” He also suggests keeping the shadow clones as a legendary power in a later patch or tying them to a set.”
The fourth slot in Kanai’s Cube is particularly popular – players wish for this feature forever.
Others think it’s good that Blizzard wants to fix the bugs on the PTR first and not release a broken season (via reddit).
Other players mention positively that Blizzard is taking the time to fix the errors of the season.

When does Season 22 come?
Due to the extended testing, the start of Season 22 in Diablo 3 could be delayed even more. It was previously assumed that it would be as early as the second half of October.
However, a date in November is now becoming increasingly likely. Especially since Blizzard usually announces it two weeks before the start.
It seems you now have a few weeks’ time until the new season kicks off. In the meantime, why not try some crazy things, like this guy. The streamer completed Diablo 3 without attacks and abilities.
