When does Season 32 start? On July 12 at 5:00 PM, Season 32 begins in Diablo 3. The season theme is “Ethereal Memory” and brings back ethereal items.

Overview of Season 32
This is the season theme: In the season “Ethereal Memory”, ethereal items from Season 24 return to Sanctuary. These are weapons that offer particularly strong abilities and affixes. This includes a random legendary property for class weapons and a random passive class skill. You can find all the details in the following list:
- Ethereal items are account-bound and can only be obtained from monsters, from chests, and from destructible objects. However, you do not need to be level 70 to find them. Ethereal items cannot be obtained from Kanai’s Cube or Kadala.
- The drop rate of ethereal items is positioned between ancient and archaic items.
- There are three unique ethereal items per class. Each ethereal item has fixed affixes and a random legendary weapon property and a random passive class skill.
- Only one ethereal item can be equipped at a time.
- Ethereal items do not lose durability.
- Legendary properties and passive class skills of ethereal items cannot be stacked with the same power stemming from Kanai’s Cube or from items and skills.
- Ethereal items cannot be enchanted, transmogged, dyed, re-forged, or traded.
- Ethereal items can be enhanced.
- If you collect all 21 ethereal items during the season, you will receive the achievement “Ethereal Memory” as a reward. Players who complete this achievement can use all ethereal transmog options with their seasonal and non-seasonal heroes in the future.
- Ethereal items can only drop during a seasonal game and cannot be transferred to non-seasonal characters after the season ends.
Cosmetic rewards: In Season 32, rewards return that you could originally obtain in Season 8. In addition, there are two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entire season journey that did not previously exist in Diablo. This includes the portrait frame “Warrior of Teganze” and a new bat companion.
Starter sets: As you know from the seasons in Diablo 3, you earn Haedrig’s gifts by completing chapters 2, 3, and 4. If you open them all with the same character, you will receive a complete set. The set you can earn with the classes changes in each season.

What’s next for Diablo 3? This is the third season where Blizzard is rehashing content from previous seasons. There will be no new themes anymore: Blizzard confirmed that with Season 29 the last new content for Diablo 3 will come and shows how it will proceed afterwards.
