The end date of Season 26 in Diablo 3 has been officially announced by Blizzard and is much later than we previously thought. You may have to wait until September for the start of Season 27.
What’s happening in Diablo 3? Since April 15, Season 26 in Diablo 3 has been running. Typically, these seasons last about three months before they are – after a brief break – replaced by the next chapter with different content and changes. However, the current phase has already exceeded its duration, and as Blizzard explains, it will last much longer.
We will provide you with the latest information from Blizzard and how it affects the start date of Season 27.
When does Season 26 end?
This is what Blizzard says: In the forum post, Community Manager FilthieRich explains that Season 26 ends on August 21 at 5:00 PM (via forums.blizzard.com).
Just in July, Blizzard stated that the start of the next season is delayed because they are extending the testing phase on the PTR.
An end on August 21 is significantly later than previously thought. This prolongs the current content significantly.
When does Season 27 start?
Usually, there is a gap of one to two weeks between the end and the start of a season.
This is what we suspect: If S26 indeed ends on August 21 and is not extended again, then the earliest start date for Season 27 would be August 26. Since seasons always start on a Friday and end on a Sunday, that would be the next possible date.
With a lot of bad luck, the start could even fall on September 2.
