What does Blizzard say? In recent weeks, the PTR time for Season 22 of Diablo 3 has been extended. During this time, the current Season 21 continued. Players have been wondering for a long time when the end date would finally be announced. Normally, this should happen two weeks before the end.
On October 28, Blizzard announced in the forums that Season 21 will end on November 8 at 5:00 PM. This leaves you only a few days to complete your seasonal goals.
How long has Season 21 been running?
Started in summer: Season 21 of Diablo 3 started on July 3. Normally, a season in D3 is supposed to run for about three months. With the end on November 8, Season 21 will even exceed four months.
That this season section would run longer had already become apparent. Because on September 9, Community Manager PezRadar announced, that the PTR was still a ways off. This refers to the test phase of Season 22.
When this finally started on the test servers, there were problems. On October 13, PezRadar stated that there were bugs in the current PTR Patch 2.6.10. The PTR phase would have to be extended indefinitely.
Apparently, they have managed to get the bugs under control enough to signal the end of the current season and take the next big step towards Season 22.
When could the start of Season 22 in Diablo 3 be?
This is known: Normally, there is about a one to two week break between the end of a season and the start of a new season.
- There were 5 days between Season 16 and 17
- There were 5 days between Season 17 and 18
- There were 12 days between Season 18 and 19
- There were 12 days between Season 19 and 20
- There were 12 days between Season 20 and 21
If Season 21 ends on November 8, then November 13 or November 20 would be potential dates for the start of Season 22. Because seasons usually start on Fridays.

Thanksgiving in the USA is on November 26. The Friday before that would be November 20.
In general, November seems to be a good start date for the new season when looking at the hack-and-slash competition. Path of Exile has postponed its new expansion to next year.
