The hack and slash Diablo 3 not only has a bot problem but also struggles with cheaters.

As reported by Kotaku, there are difficulties with the console versions of Diablo 3. Since Diablo 3 can also be played offline there, some cheats and hacks are possible: Items can be manipulated. When players using such cheats encounter “honest” players, problems arise. But this time, the cheaters don’t just kill “honest players”; they overwhelm them with experience points, ruining their gaming enjoyment.
Gem of Ease is driven to absurd heights
Cheaters have found a way to push the gem “Gem of Ease” to dizzying heights. Normally, this is a gem used in items to facilitate leveling. It can become stronger through upgrading in Nephalem Rifts. However, it is set so that you already have to be a top player to get the rank higher than 50. Even among the top players, the fun ends in the 70 range.
However, through a cheat, the “Gem of Ease” is driven to absurd heights. It gives so much bonus XP that it rapidly exceeds all dimensions. If cheaters were only doing this for themselves, it would be annoying, but not a problem. But they join games of “normal” players and, through the “group” feature, give normal players incredible amounts of experience points in just moments.
The “honest players” level up practically within three heartbeats by 300 Paragon levels: This ruins the enjoyment of the game, taking away any sense of achievement.
In response to Kotaku, Blizzard confirms that they are aware of the problem and with patch 2.4 they are introducing a “check” that limits such gems on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to rank 100. Until then, it is probably best for console players to set Diablo 3 so that no one can join their games.
